His undergraduate college degree is from University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He earned his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Medical training as an intern and resident took place at LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine, where he was selected as chief resident during his final year of training. Dr. Shahrdar moved to Los Angeles for a joint reconstruction fellowship at Centinela Hospital, and a second fellowship in pelvic and acetabular fracture and anterior hip replacement surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital.
