Edward Morgan, MD, specializes in hip and knee replacements at Willis Knighton Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Pierremont. Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Morgan works with injured patients to restore motion with improved agility and strength. Partnering with patients for treatment so they can return to an active lifestyle is his treatment philosophy.

A Shreveport native, Dr. Morgan graduated from Jesuit High School. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, followed by his doctoral degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. His orthopedic surgery residency was at Tulane in New Orleans. Dr. Morgan completed his first fellowship in orthopedics and sports medicine in Australia, and a second fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

In addition to his work in the clinic, Dr. Morgan educates other physicians. He was an orthopedics instructor during his time at Mayo Clinic. He …has spoken at medical conferences in the U.S. and worldwide. Dr. Morgan is the author of book chapters for orthopedic textbooks and has coauthored many articles in academic journals. He is currently an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at LSU School of Medicine and is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents.

Dr. Morgan holds a seat on the board of Louisiana Orthopaedic Association. His memberships include Tulane Caldwell Society, Hughston Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Louisiana State Medical Society, Shreveport Medical Society and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

When not working with orthopedic patients, Dr. Morgan enjoys sailing, boating, skiing, hiking and traveling.

He is married and the father of a daughter who is currently a general surgery resident at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

Having had a complicated ankle injury repaired by Dr. Morgan and several years later a knee replacement, my results were A+ My ankle has had no issues and this has been at least seven years ago. Obviously, I highly recommend Dr. Morgan and if need be I will turn back to him with no qualms. Dr. Morgan is also kind and compassionate.

17 days out from a knee replacement done by Dr. Edward Morgan and I’m already walking without a cane. I just keep my cane handy for safety’s sake. I followed directions and kept up with the physical therapy. Painful process, but no pain, no gain. Dr. Morgan is kind and compassionate and I had doctors and nurses alike, tell me that I was in good hands. Thank you Dr. Morgan, I’m truly grateful.

I have had 2 hip replacements this year. he is a great surgeon. My recovery time was much shorter then he thought. Just follow his instructions.

I went with questions concerning a hip replacement. Dr. Morgan stated I did not need a hip replacement because the pain I was having was caused by a nerve in my hip. He referred me to pain management..thankful NO surgery!!!!

Dr. Morgan is an awesome surgeon who really knows his stuff. He has replaced a hip & a knee for me during 2015. He will replace my other knee in 2016. With both surgeries physical therapists have been amazed at my rapid progress post op.

I was very pleased and comfortable during my visits with Dr. Morgan. He is very knowlegable in his area of expertise amd has a wonderful bedside manner. He was very patient with me during my visits and took the time to answer all of my questions and put all of my concerns to rest. I had a total hip replacement and the experience was nothing short of perfection from beginning to end. I am so happy that I was introduced to Dr. Morgan and would highly recommend him for all of your orthopedic needs.

My daughter accompaned me for my visit with Dr. Morgan.She and I both were very impressed. His nurse showed empathy and understanding regarding my past history with my knee problems. She was very easy to talk to.Dr. Morgan has a very good "bedside" manner. He took time to explain my diagnosis, and answered all questions that I had.Dr. Morgan did not seem "rushed" as some doctors often do.Dr. Morgan understood how I have been living with pain for more than two years, following a procedure performed by another orthopedic doctor.Dr. Morgan gave me hope; that I could have a TKR now, rather than to wait until I was "old and decrepit" as told to me by the previous orthopedic physician.Dr. Morgan was recommended to me by my mother's neighbor. I will be forever grateful that Ramona recommended Dr. Morgan to me.I now have hope that I will be able to regain the life that I lost.
