Dr. Camellia Pratt Clark, MD

Within our first session, we determined that she was not the right fit for me. She made a deal with me that she would keep prescribing my meds to me since my PCP wouldn't until I got another psychiatrist. Every single month when I tried to refill my medication, it was a struggle. The office doesn't have a way to contact her other then vm and email. And she doesn't get back quickly.

I have never sat through such a difficult interview with a new Dr. *ever* in my life. Her communication skills are so poor as to be completely distracting. During a 7+ minute period she said “uhhhh” or “ummm” an average of every 3 seconds. I know because I started keeping a tally. (In contrast, in that same time frame I spoke a total of 6 words - “no thank you” for each time she came up with some random drug she wanted to prescribe for me). Avoid at all costs.

Be very careful going to Dr. Clark. I had 1 appointment with her, and in just this 45 minutes she prescribed me 6 different types of pills. I was hesitant so I chose to get a second opinion, my new doctor said if I would've taken all the pills she prescribed at once it could have actually been dangerous for me. For instance I said I overeat a couple times a month and she said this is a disorder and needs pills. When i questioned her she got frustrated and loud with me and said "Do you want to get well or not?!". When I asked her about certain side affects to some of the medication she was prescribing, she assured me there were not, which my new doctor says is absolutely false. Overall a very unpleasant person, judgmental, and all she cared about was prescribing as many pills as she can. She is what is wrong with the medical system and very dangerous, should not have a license.

This psych needs to retire. We were recommended by Sharp Mesa Vista for a new psychosis that my son has been through. The first visit, not only did she not invite me in to talk with her as his mother, but she didn't even acknowledge me. She never changed or updated his medications that he was givien in the hospital despite that it was an extremely low dose and meant just as a bandaid until seeking therapy. The straw that broke the camels back is when I asked her for another prescription she told me that she "doesn't do well with psychotics and I should find someone else." What? Why did you take him in the first place? Did you read his file? To add insult to injury, I asked her for a formal diagnosis and some other paperwork which I am still waiting for after 3 weeks and when I requested it, she told me her printer was broken. There are so many things wrong with this picture. She is unhelpful and ineffective. It's time for her to start gardening instead of diagnosing and treating.
