Ran a neuropsych test on me when I was 16 and pushed drugs I didn't want on me. Didn't listen to me and forced me on drugs I didn't want to take.

Creepy. Touching and rubbing my back. Sent insurance company a completely different report/diagnosis than what was discussed in the office.

I had a very good experience NC Neuropsych at the Raleigh office. The staff was friendly, professional, and made me at easy through the testing process. I would recommend them.

This doctor is the worst

I selected this doctor because I wanted the best, and discovered Dr. Gualtieri after extensive research. He has written 100+ articles in top journals, authors well-known text books, and developed an outstanding neurocognitive diagnostic software. However I recommend him because of his RESULTS. I am the president of a company and have had a successful career, but always had to work extremely hard in life to get there, often sleeping 3-4 hours a night my entire adult life. At age 45 I went to Dr. Gualtieri thinking I had a memory issue, but thanks to his outstanding testing tools and clinical experience, I discovered I actually have a great memory, just trouble focusing to receive information because it turns out I had severe, undiagnosed ADD! Every other doctor and well-meaning friend and family member had misdiagnosed my issue. I was easily treated with medication and am now able to re-focus better after interruption, which has been completely life-changing. It has massively… improved my output at work and my personal relationships as I can now work much more normal hours. Most good doctors are hard to get time with, and the ones who really listen to their patients may sometimes need more than the 7 minutes their insurance allots, which means you may have to wait a bit. Trust me, he is worth the wait!!!!!

I made the mistake of taking my 5yo here for a follow-up evaluation after a head injury that required hospitalization. Yes, it was easy to get an appointment, and the office was clean and the staff were friendly and courteous. But that is the end of the positives. I am trained as a school psychologist, and could not have been more disappointed with our experience here. It was apparent that they were not accustomed with working with young children by the fact that they expected my child to sit in a large swiveling office chair and complete almost 2 hours of testing on a computer. One of the tests used (CNS Vital Signs) is completely inappropriate to use with a 5yo, and not well validated even with adults. At the end of the appointment, Dr. Gualtieri told me that my son was perfectly fine and that all the stuff in the media about concussion (mild TBI) is "just hype". I disagree, as would most medical professionals, but whatever, if my son is "fine" than who cares, right? Except… for that 2 months later, I get a report in the mail saying that he has severe deficits in a few cognitive areas (as reported by the CNS Vital Signs), and also that he couldn't sit still for the appointment so he obviously has ADHD (guess what 5yos do when seated for over 2hrs in a swiveling chair, yup, they swivel!), but that the ADHD had nothing to do with the injury and was present before the injury (not sure how they came to that conclusion, I guess just because the info in the media about the dangers of concussion is just hype so it couldn't be related?). Needless to say, I have since followed up with other professionals and had a 2nd evaluation, with people who actually use valid measures and are accustomed to working with young children. Yes, my son is still recovering from a head injury, but at least he's now getting care from doctors who I trust, not someone who apparently labels every child who walks through the door with ADHD... Don't waste your time or money. Drive to Raleigh Neurology and get reliable and responsible care.
