I had been seeing another NP at the same practice for 5 years. I had been placed on pain medicine for chronic pain conditions I suffer from. I underwent routine drug testing because of this medication, as well as a couple of random pill counts and drug tests without any complications. The NP I was seeing stopped working at the practice and I was transferred to Candy. After a few months I went in for a routine monthly appointment. She had done recent labwork and went over those results with me. Following the appointment I went to the oahrmacy to wait on all of my refills. I received a call telling me to come back to the office. Someone from my existing family had called in stating I was using other illicit drugs. Candy ordered a blood drug screen. Earlier during my initial appointment it had been discussed that I hadn't taken any of my medications that morning because I was running late. She only gave me a few days work of my pain medicine, pending the drug screen results. After I ran… out of medicine, I called to get a refill. She explained to me that she wouldn't be giving me anymore pain medicine because it didn't show present in my drug screen. Research showed that this type of pain medicine only shows prese t in blood for up to 6-8 hours. I explained this to her and pointed out to her that I had told her I hadn't taken any of medicine since the evening before my last appointment and the fay prior to the blood test. She didn't care. I also had tested negative for other illicit drugs, disproving the caller's accusations. It didn't matter. I've been on this medication for years and was unsafely and unfairly teen off of it without being weined down or anything. I feel violated and that a great injustice was done to me. It wasn't fair at all. It wasn't right at all for her a medical professional to disregard the facts of how the type of test ordered works. During the years I have been a patient there I have u dergone routine drug screening, as well as random pill counts and drug testing. None of it mattered. Now I'm in pain everyday and don't know how to get help with it. It's greatly impacted me. I wouldn't recommend anyone trusting her to br fair and make decicons concerning their day to day health.
