Dr. Cara Beth Lee

I think she is a good doctor with good skills as an orthopedic surgeon. I went to visit about 7 years ago for a torn labrum. I received injections and didn’t notice much difference. I made the mistake of describing a global pattern of dysfunction rather than just pointing at my hip and grunting (apparently that is what some surgeons expect of you as a patient). They refused to let me schedule another appt after 2 visits. 7 years later, I ended up having bilateral FAI hip surgery and finally fixing that same torn labrum. Ended up with damage to the external hip rotators and the psoas as a result of leaving it untreated for so long. Feels like MSK and ortho medicine is 50 years behind all the fake marketing materials that like to espouse how advanced we are as a medical society.

Hard to trust anyone from Swedish. They have so many scandals. From dishonest doctors to amputating people's toes instead of giving them antibiotics for routine staph infections. Just shameless.

Only reason I gave her 2 stars for ease of appt is because she asks to see your medical records before even getting an appt, and that makes it hard. But in the end, it is what makes her a great doctor. So it's not a complaint, just an honest assessment!

She diagnosed me with hip bursitis and hip dysplasia on my first visit. She said with physical therapy I would be better in 3 - 6 months. After 4-5 months I wasn't getting better so returned. She gave me a cortisone shot. It helped a little, but wasn't the cure all I hoped for. Still in pain, I returned a few months later. She refused a second shot since the first was only partially effective. Again she pushed on the PT, and then dismissed me as a patient as I was not in immediate need of surgery. I've had loads of PT, acupuncture, and anti-inflammatories. Over three years later I am still in pain every single day.

Seems competent.
