Dr. Carl Francis Gatto, MD

Dr. Gatto is a native of New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate training at Boston College and received his B.S. degree in Biology in 1989. He attended Tufts University School of Medicine and received his M.D. degree in 1994 before moving to Washington, DC. He completed both his pediatric internship and residency at Georgetown University Hospital from 1994-1997. Dr. Gatto worked at another local pediatric practice for several years before joining Bethesda Pediatrics in September 2000. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and has been named to Washingtonian magazines Top Doctors list. His focus is on patient and parent education as well as preventive health care. Dr. Gatto lives in Washington, DC with his partner (who is also a pediatrician) and son. He currently works part-time and spends his days off caring for his son. He is an avid cook and baker and enjoys photography and running.
