Dr Carl Goolsby

I babsolutely love Dr Goolsby, the medical staff and office personnel. Everyone here is so kind and willing to help. Trust me, I bother them often lol

Over several years. Sad experiences.

I am, by nature, reluctant to see physicians. I do try to get a physical every year. My first visit to Dr. Goolsby was for a physical. My blood pressure was fairly high (due to a couple of factors). I was overweight and had experienced some stress prior to the physical. He was concerned, but I told him that I didn't want a prescription. He didn't hesitate to state that I had to stick to a regiment to get my weight down and manage my stress better, but he agreed that I didn't need medication (although my blood pressure indicated otherwise) as long as I did what was necessary to better manage it. I had grown accustomed to doctors trying to prescribe medication for everything. He was very attentive and thorough, without being condescending. I did, in fact, bring it down to normal ranges and he was very pleased. My subsequent follow ups were just as pleasing as my initial visit. I highly recommend Dr. Goolsby and his staff. I will be going back soon for other concerns and am… confident that I will get the same treatment.

I've just finished reading some of these negative reviews and can't believe what I'm reading. I've been going to Dr. Goolsby for about 20 years and have always found him to be caring, considerate, competent, knowledgeable and willing to take as long to discuss my case and answer my questions as need be. I've never had a problem with his staff, either.

I went for a checkup after not seeing a doctor for 5 years and was seen by a nurse practioner who misdiagnosed and put me on meds I should not have been on and some conflicted with each other. After a week of taking these meds I ended up in the ER with 2 doses of morphine and a breathing treatment for bronchitis I stopped taking those meds and feel great again!

Doctor & staff didn't listen to anything we had to say. Whenever we tried to get a word in, they either interrupted us or cut us off before we could finish. The wait time was absolutely ridiculous. Every time that I called, I was forced to leave a message and heard back hours later. Inconsiderate, unconcerned, degrading, insulting, condescending.Inconsiderate, poor mannerisms, made false family accusations, made inaccurate diagnosis, bad attitude. Referred me to many of his doctor friends which were just as bad and horrendously costly and time-consuming. This doctor has a little "clan" where the members just push patients around between themselves. That resulted in a waste of valuable time when an accurate diagnosis was needed.Save yourself time, money, and heartache by avoid the entire crew there at Hiram. Drive a little farther into Atlanta to the famous university hospital where the doctors actually are skilled and care about your well being. Your family's health is worth it.

good doctor. made appropriate referrals and seemed to care about patient. went out of his way to be sure we were aware of some abnormal lab values.
