Dr. Carol M Gaines, DO

I was told to arrive 15 min early for my appointment. I think I arrived 14 min and 30 early. The receptionist was very pleasant, took my info and I started to fill out my papers. My appointment was at 10:30 and around 10:25 the doctor came out and said "she doesn't have time for this, she's extremely busy and I would have to reschedule". Keep in mind I was the only one in the waiting room. The doctor was extremely rude about this. The receptionist offered to make me a follow up appointment but I declined, saying I will go to a friendlier, more caring doctor. I look at this as a blessing in disguise because now I can find a doctor that is pleasant and not so rude.

I had a precription that dr gaines would renew for a year. When I had my appointment she refilled it, but did not inform me about that it was only for 3 months.It was hormone replacement, so did not require blood work, etc. I was going away for the weekend and when I tried to fill there were no refills. It was a Tuesday morning and I was leaving Friday. I was informed that I would need an appointment to get a refill. I had just seen her 3 months prior. I called to get an appointment and was told I would they could not get me in for 3 weeks. I contacted the nurse again to ask for a one refill and that I would be in three weeks. I let her know that it was the 1st appointment I could get. dr gaines, once again, refused to fill it even for one month! We have gone our separate ways!!!

My visits with Dr Gaines are always very pleasant. I never feel rushed, she takes the time to evaluate my concerns. The staff is always very courteous and caring.

Dr Gaines refuses to refill a basic precription without an office visit. When you realize you need a refill you have to make an appt. for an office visit. Unfortunately it can take 3 weeks to get an appt. She refuses to refill yet she can't see you for weeks.....hmmmmmm

She is very personable, thorough and listens to what you have to say. Not an alarmist and has been on point every visit. Highly recommend!

Besides the quality of Dr. Gaines' actual service being quite subpar, the support staff that she has taken over since the last doctor's departure is simply incapable of completing tasks and finishing work or assignments when needed by the patients. On multiple occasions I have been forced to show evidence of calling the "nurses" or the nurses themselves leaving me voicemails detailing what was to be performed by them when they fail to have the task done when I come to the office. Fortunately I am relocating soon and will be able to change doc's, but I would simply avoid this office due to the constant headaches that they cause themselves.

I started seeing Dr. Gaines about 7 months ago and I'm very pleased with her and her office staff. I have always been seeing within 5 minutes of my appointment time. Never had a problem getting a last minute appointment when I needed to see her. I would highly recommend her as a Dr.

Carol Gaines is the worst doctor I have ever seen. After changing our health insurance therefore our mail prescriptions she refused to order refils for prescriptions that cannot be stopped abruptly. Her reason was that I needed a new blood test and come for an office visit first. I had already scheduled my office visit and would have had the blood test done one week prior to that visit so I had the blood test done immediately when I realized that two of my medications that needed to be refilled immediately and called to ask that one of my prescriptions be ordered. She still refused causing me to experience horrible withdrawal symptoms when I ran out. A blood test was not even needed for these two prescriptions. I always felt like I was being attacked not helped. She has terrible bedside manners.

Worst doctor appointment ever. Will never go back.
