Dr. Carol Marie Kooistra, MD

My husband had been a patient of Dr. Carol Kooistra since June 2025. She is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful with all aspects of his health. I ask her many questions and she is patient with her responses. She immediately recognized his need for an ultrasound on his lower leg which showed a blood clot and was very explicit in how it must be treated for which we are very grateful. She is always very busy seeing her patients and there’s a wait time to see her, but well worth the wait. She takes time with my husband and with me when we see her and we are not rushed. Her staff is also professional and kind. She’s a hard worker who goes beyond the extra mile and we greatly appreciate her!

She has been my Doctor for over 10 years, she is the best at what she does, I am so happy I found her, and she has treated me with the up most respect, I am so proud to have her as my Doctor.

The most arrogant and condescending Dr. I have ever seen. I only wish I had read all of the reviews on this "Dr." before my visit.

Terrible wait for hours too see her five min gives no direct answers on the question you ask her nurse is nice she need to take notes from her

My wife has been seeing multiple Neuros over the past few years, and Dr Kooistra is THE WORST! SO RUDE, and the most uncaring Dr we have ever encountered. She only cares about herself and not the treatment or therapy of her patients. I would see a vet before Dr Kooistra!

Dr. Kooistra is a great Dr. I've been seeing her yearly for almost 8 years. Their office is just really busy. All the time. I guess there aren't many Neurologists in Spartanburg? She's worth the wait (sometimes over an hour) Don't plan to do anything else that day though!

Seems to prescribe meds based on ones that she has been given lots of samples for/newsest meds whether most effective or not. Kinda bland bedside manner. Have waited over an hour for an am appt, before asking and finding out she was still doing rounds at the hosp. Seems like it would have been courteous for her staff to have inform us that she was not even in the bldg and give a chance to rescedule, or at least give us an explanation for the wait. She's smart, but will prob be loking for a different neurologist.

My wife has MS, and we has seen most Nurologists in the Greenville area.During an MS support meeting in 2005, a freind recomended Doctor Kooistra.We drive 45 minutes from Greenville to her office in Spartenbuerg, every time we have an appointmentFive years after our first appointment in Spartanburg, I would drive hours to have my wife see her..She is my choise for the best MS care Physician in the state.
