Dr. Carol Beth Norton, MD

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Norton. She treated my high-risk pregnancy, and never made me feel rushed during any appointments. A few times, due to unforeseen complications, my appointments lasted much longer than anticipated and she stayed with me for an hour plus answering all questions and working through possible options for a successful pregnancy and delivery. My delivery with Dr. Norton was so smooth and relaxed. She is so smart and thoughtful. There is sometimes a wait in the office, but it's a small price to pay for a fantastic doctor.

Dr. Norton is incredibly knowledgeable, willing to give her time, and has the best bedside manner! She is willing to answer every question (no matter how basic, even multiple times) and never gets short. She explains everything very well and really keeps up with recent studies well (allowing her to provide the best science backed recommendations). She has a great staff (Corey, PA, and Priscilla, Nurse), and does her own deliveries, even in the middle of the night when she's not on call. She has a much lower C-section rate than other doctors at Methodist Richardson. My first pregnancy was very normal and Norton did a great job delivering. My second pregnancy is high risk and she's been fantastic at helping me understand every bit of what's happening and the risks associated with it. Today she spent a full hour just talking with me creating a delivery plan, and it was so wonderful that I felt compelled to get online and write some reviews. Even when sharing scary news, she always makes… me feel calm and confident in her.

Dr. Norton has been fantastic we are currently 32 weeks and she has been nothing but great. Her front office staff has been nothing but nice and helpful with changing of our insurance. Dr. Norton has gone through and answered all of our questions and never makes us feel rushed. We look forward to our delivery and are excited we will have dr. Norton by our side.

Dr Norton and her staff were so nice and still professional on my first visit. They were all accommodating and attentive. I was really happy with every aspect of my visit.

I am a current patient trying to schedule my yearly check up. When I called I was told it would take 5 months to get an appointment with the Doctor. I could have a nurse practitioner though earlier. Last year when I tried to schedule for the next year I was told I could not that they would send me a letter...... Received that, and knew it was not time to to go in so waited, nowhere in it did it state need to make the appointment because we are booking appointments 5 months out!!!!!! Now it is time for my appointment, I thought it would take a month to get in - no 5 months. Would they even get me in if I was having problems, did not seem so from the attitude of the assistant????? Terrible, Terrible service. Told them I really wanted to speak with the doctor as I also had prescriptions to get filled, was told a nurse practitioner could do that.... REALLY - maybe this doctor should not have so many patients that she can not see them!!!!!!!!!! IF I WAS A NEW PATIENT COULD I GET… IN FASTER - MAYBE SO. Just a revolving door at this practice as they do not see to service their patients.

I tried to make an appointment today and the receptionist said she needed the date of my last obgyn appointment first. No problem I can get it. I told her it had been over 2 years and that my insurance covers a yearly check up. She still insisted I needed the date of my last check up to make the appt with Dr. Norton. If I haven't been to the doctor in over 2 years and my insurance covers it every year, why wouldn't you want a new patient to go ahead and schedule an appointment??? What if I had NEVER been to a doctor before? She finally agreed to schedule me and then said "But we are still going to need that date." What am I a 10 year old??? How inviting to talk down to you a new patient, or any patient for that matter. I would have gladly gotten the date for her before my appointment time but honestly, why would I go there when this is likely a good indication of how the office is run??? Did I mention this is the second time I tried to make an appointment? The first time I called to… double check my appointment time for the next day and they didn't even have me down on the schedule....not for any day, ever. Super disappointing as I was eager to meet Dr. Norton.......for the second time. There won't be a third attempt.

Dr. Norton is nice, but she's completely dismissed my ongoing pain twice now, recommending we "wait and see what happens" at both visits months apart. I don't feel heard or taken seriously at all.

I have been a patient at this office for 3 years. Each year I have had an annual exam with no concerns. This year, I was told by Dr. Norton I needed to have a somewhat invasive biopsy of a "most likely benign" fibroid. I did not choose to have the biopsy because of the invasiveness of the procedure and cost. 10 days ago, I requested to have my birth control, Nuvaring, refilled. At first, Dr. Norton did not respond at all to the request from my pharmacy. Today, I called both the pharmacy to send a second request, and to Dr. Norton. I received a call back, with a voicemail from Priscilla, stating that because I had not come in for my annual exam, I was being denied birth control. I have my medical records and receipts to prove I was in for my annual exam, and for a sonogram that picked up the fibroid. I am really being denied birth control because I do not want to pay for an expensive, invasive, unneccessary procedure; biopsy of fibroid. I filed a formal complaint tonight with the State… of Texas Medical Board due to timeliness of initial request for refill, and lack of medical guidelines requiring an exam to receive birth control. Also, because I need my contraception, and will not allow it to be unconsciously hijacked by a medical doctor without a right to my own care, I used an app to order my birth control. I used an app with an inhome visit of $15, and a years worth of Nuvaring is sent to my house every month. Patients need to take back their right of care in the US. I absolutely cannot believe, in 2018, I was denied contraception because of not allowing a doctor to perform an invasive pelvic proceudre. Please know, there are other, better, options out there than this doctor!

I have been a patient in this practice since 2007. Dr. Carol Norton became my doctor after her business partner left. Dr. Norton has always been very professional and caring. She is always up to date with the latest changes in regards to woman's health and issues. She delivered my second child and came to check on me even when she was off the next day. Her staffs are courteous and I would highly recommend Dr. Norton if you are looking for a caring and knowledgeable OB!

I liked Dr Norton, but the experience was always negative due to outrageous wait times (shortest was 45 minutes before seeing the nurse, usually over any hour to an hour and a half to see the doctor). Only saw the doctor about 20% of visits. Very hard to get a hold of when we had questions. Something that was very exciting for us was made to feel like a bother from the staff. The PA or NP (cant remember which) was also very nice and caring, but just really disappointing all around. Experience, will not have next child with them
