Dr. Carol Yumiko Takami, MD

My mom was previously a patient of Dr. Takami. Dr. Takami delayed performing a crucial test that is used to identify certain gynecological cancers. After completing the aforementioned exam, Dr. Takami misdiagnosed my mom. Our family has paid a devastating price for this doctor’s errors.

Dr. Takami was rude. Didn’t listen to word I said. Made me wait one hour And then rushed me through my appointment. Minimized my concerns and condition and didn’t allow time for me to ask questions. She said we will call you and left the room leaving me with a lot of questions unanswered. Discouraged to see her again. Do not recommend her at all.

Dr. Takami has experienced and knowledgeable. She told me and give me advice that I have to know. I know that she is busy but she is calling me when she has time to reach out and follow up with me. I am looking for a doctor like her for a long time. I recommend her to all of my friends.

During my first OBGYN appointment for my pregnancy, Dr. Takami appeared to be completely uninterested and rushed through my appointment. She also completely minimized the amount of stress that I? was under and resorted to telling me that I was depressed and should talk to the social worker. Well interestingly enough, I? am a social worker and know the symptoms of depression, which Dr. Takami obviously does not. I? was highly offended by her and did not feel that she listened to a word I? said. Needless to say I? scheduled my future appointments with someone else. I?t turns out my sister in law saw Dr. Takami a week before me and had a terrible experience as well.

I would not recommend Dr Takami. She saw me for literally 5 minutes when I had waited 1 hour for her. It was my first time meeting her and she comes in and asks me a series of questions in an interrogating way and looks at me in a judgmental way. She then asks if I have any questions, but I was honestly too scared to ask because I thought I would be looked down on. She has a way to make you feel dumb for having an opinion or concerns. I had high hopes that she would be great because her nurse is amazing and so sweet. Dr Takami on the other hand really needs to learn some bed side manners and learn how to sympathize or smile once in a while and not suck the joy out of the pregnancy journey. Going to change doctors asap

Dr. Takami is knowledgable, experienced and tells you what you need to know. I am impressed by how she explains what she is actually doing. Simple and easy to understand. She returns calls as soon as she can.

I also agree with the last person who posted a review on her. She is very uncaring and disconnected with her patients, at least with me. Also, don't expect to her right away when you go to her appointments. She makes me wait at least an hour before i can see her. I am thinking of switching doctors but I almost due that I rather not go through the hassle. I am only giving her a one start because she has the nicest nurse.

Unfortunately, my first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage and I had the bad experience of working with Dr. Takami during this difficult time in my life. She was like a robot throughout the entire process and did not provide us with any information or helpful advice. When I sought a second opinion, she treated me like I was stupid not to listen to her and really treated me badly throughout discovering the news, having a D&C and follow up questions. She is arrogant, rude, cold and close minded. Dr. Takami does not care about her patients. I have since switched doctors and am so happy that I am now working with someone who is kind, caring and knowledgeable.

i wasnt planing to leave a review then i felt like i owe her that much and others who are looking for a great dr shes wonderfull caring very patient and know what shes doing and thats a very rare combo anyways thank you so much for being my dr :)
