Dr. Carol Elizabeth Watkins, MD

She isn’t licensed in the state she is practicing in. The department of licensing for Delaware has sent her a cease and desist.

Unkempt, brash, rude, inconsiderate.

Great staff and ease of apps. Too easy as this so called Dr. is very uncouth as she was sick with a cold and proceeded to cough all over during the whole appt. without even attempting to cover her mouth. Needless to say I caught the cold she had and was sick for a month. She is also very unsupportive. Save yourself time and aggravation and go somewhere professional.

Helped my child and I deal with both family and school issues.

Spent a lot of time going over my old records and taking a history. Discussed several treatment options and allowed me to choose.

Dr. Watkins treated our child for a very short time. She completely misdiagnosed him and her recommended treatment..... was to punish him! Our child was completely miserable and we decided to seek another adolesant psychiatrist for him. Within 30 minutes of talking with our new doctor our son was diagnosed properly and given different meds. He is doing great now! Dr. Watkins is rude and pompous and did not work for my family. Unfortunately, I had to give one star for this review to submit but in reality I give zero stars.

Sharon, the receptionist, is a gem. Dr. Watkins is more like the fascinating array of unusual mineral specimens she displays in her Monkton office: exceptional from some angles, but not so sparkly from others. Pros: easy to get appointment, doctor is good about integrating physical & mental health and appreciates science, will fit you in in an emergency, seems like a basically decent human being. Cons: Always behind schedule, spends a lot of time talking about herself and telling stories of dubious relevance, is not a reliably good listener, is far too wed to her laptop, and did I mention not a reliably good listener? After a long time seeing Dr. Watkins I found a new provider and feel I am receiving better (more attentive and more effective) care now.

She spent a long time figuring out what was going on in my life. She spent more time than other doctors. When I had a question it was easy to reach her.

She listened pretty well and had some very good non-drug ideas about how to manage my child's depression. She has been very good about follow-up, and is always courteous and professional.

Dr Watkins spent extra time figuring out my diagnosis and also found some medical problems that had not been previously diagnosed. She contacted my primary care provider and made sure that the issues were addressed. She gave me a number of practical ideas about how to help me stay organized. She also dealt with my guilt related to years of undiagnosed ADD. When I was really upset, I paged her and reached her quickly. SHe was willing to spend a lot of time talking to me when I called her upset.
