Dr. Carolina Maria Covarrubias, MD

Dr. Covarrubias has really improved my mental health in a short period of time! She’s a very good listener and she approaches my concerns in a holistic manner. She doesn’t just recommend medication’s. She has so many other recommendations that have really helped me. Do not hesitate to reach out to her. She has a warm and caring personality, and you will feel very comfortable with her.

I highly recommend Dr. C. She is very kind and thoughtful. She tries her best to use a holistic approach to mental health and only prescribes medications if it is absolutely necessary. She put me on the lowest doses of meds and they work. I am so grateful to have found her and I feel like I am functioning better than I have in years.

I am very fortunate to have found Dr. C on the internet. I am a law student who has been struggling for many years with trauma, depression, anxiety and difficulty with my relationships. Dr. C was so kind, thoughtful and easy to talk to . You can really feel her genuine care and is readily accessible to answer any questions. She focuses on both body and mind and makes sure your treatment plan is well rounded. We use a combo of psychotherapy, vitamins, sleep hygiene, and mild medications with little to no side effects. I would recommend her to all my family and friends.

I have been going to therapy for a few years and although I felt some improvement I kept feeling like I was hitting a wall in my growth. After much discussion with my therapist, I was recommended to see Dr. Covarrubias, and now that wall has been broken! I was nervous to get on medication because of the social stigma and also having to admit to myself that I need more help, but Dr. C made me feel so comfortable. Not only did she explain to me exactly how the medications work and how they can benefit me, but she also told me the negative side affects as well. I felt like this honesty and genuine concern really made me trust her, so instead of putting me on a bunch of meds at high doses (like the horror stories you hear), we made a gradual transition. Every step of the way she made sure to “check in” on me, I never felt alone on my new journey. She encouraged me to continue with my therapist and to find other sources of therapy, so I started taking ballroom dance classes, something I… never would have done before but always wanted to try! My quality of life has grown exponentially and I can truly say it’s to the thanks of Dr. Covarrubias.

I am a college student in the los angeles area and Dr. Covarrubias has helped me so much over the past year and a half. I came to her with anxiety and depression and really appreciated her approach to my mental health. She not only made me feel welcome and safe but her approach on not using strong medications was very helpful.
