Dr. Caroline Garcia Choan, MD

Dr. Choan was my mother’s doctor and prescribed her medication that was the opposite of what she had needed and it was later corrected by another doctor who was shocked that Dr. Choan gave her it. Shockingly bad performance and I’m frightened that she is a practicing doctor.

Dr. Choan is great as long as you can get a hold of her. It is like pulling teeth to get anyone to answer the phone, email, fax, homing pigeon, anything. The only way I can make an appointment is if I walk in. during there very convenient business hours 9am-12pm Tuesday- Friday

This office and doctor are not caring or responsive to patient needs. You can only leave a message with the office and nurse when you need to schedule appointments or talk to the doctor. You will not get a call back for appointments or from the doctor. Searching for a new doctor since I have left messages for one week and Choan will not return calls. The other doctors at this location may be good but good luck making an appointment.

I showed up last week to the appointment that I made and after 15 minutes a lady came out and said she cancelled me by error and rescheduled it for today at 4:30pm. 3 days ago they called again and said that late appointments are not given to new patients and rescheduled me to 12:45. I showed up 10 minutes earlier to complete the paperwork, paid my co-pay and after 40 minutes of waiting when I asked how much longer they said there are 2 ahead of me which meant waiting another hour to hour and half. My time was disrespected.. As I left and on my way out 2 patients told me that this is the way it is in this office and they were considering finding another Dr. well I will find someone else.. office is mismanaged and expect to wait a min. of hour and half to two. I wonder if the Dr. would be ok making an appointment and having to wait for 2 hours anywhere else...

I had an appt Aug. 7th to see results of an MRI ordered by my primary care dr. After being denied a 2nd MRI ordered by Choan, I found the diagnosis on the denial letter to be wrong. After a call to insurance and 4 calls to the office, it is Sept.10th and still no reply. HELP!!!!

Steer clear and find a physician whose office staff is polite. After leaving 3 messages in an attempt for Dr Choan to explain the results of my CT scans, I was finally contacted by a very rude employee who put me on hold for almost 7 minutes and was very unprofessional. It has been 2 weeks since my CT scans, and I still cannot get an appointment scheduled. Unbelievable. I am in the medical profession, and this is not how patients should be treated. The scheduler kept asking me "What do you want?" to which I replied I would like an appointment - apparently this is far too difficult. She kept asking me if the Dr. told me she would discuss the results with me. I finally had to go to the radiologist to request a copy of the report . Now I will need to find another neurologist to go over the results for me. What a waste of time and money.

Dr. Caroline Choan has been my neurologist for 18 yrs. She is an excellent diagnostician and has a broad range of medical expertise. She has been nominated for fellowships in two areas of neurology and is double board certified with the Acadamy of Nuerology. She listens and has managed my Parkinson’s Disease.

This office is absolutely awful. No one ever returns a phone call and I can't get them to fill out a simple DMV questionnaire. Do not go to this office for neurology services!

After waking up in an acute exacerbation of my MS, it took 3 weeks to get an appointment. I saw Dr Choan, on 11/29/17 and to date she has not signed off on an order for treatment she recommended leaving her staff unable to process her order. For me, this is unacceptable.

I believe that Dr. Choan is a very qualified neurologist, but I felt more like a patient of a cyborg. Very emtionless and seemed mechanical. Was willing to share her findings, but didn't go on to help me solve my issues. It is equally sad and unfortunate that she has such a rude, incompetent staff. They do not return calls and are curt with you when they finally do. My advice is........Do not accept a referral to Dr. Choan.
