Dr. Caroline G Kabel Kotler, DO

We started our journey with Dr. Caroline 5 years ago. When we first met, it was in the middle of COVID, not only were we in the throes of a global pandemic but we worried about our job stability and how our kid, who was diagnosed just months before, with ADHD and ASD. We felt helpless and had no idea how we could help our son emotionally, academically and socially. There is no playbook on how to parent and support your kids, though I wish there was:-) Dr. Caroline stuck with us, available days, nights, weekends, holidays for every bump in the road. Today we celebrate my son who just was recognized as an honor roll student at his school for the first time. I watched him hug and high five friends, we would never have gotten here without Dr. Caroline. She’s become a part of our family, often being a support to not just my son but also to my husband and I. In the moments where we felt helpless and sometimes so worried about his future, she stayed with us, stayed the course. While there… is so much more life for him to live, today we celebrate this moment. I feel so thankful for our coach, our cheerleader, our shoulder to cry on, telling us not to give up, stay with it, be patient, love all the moments and appreciate our son for all that he is. She reminded him yesterday, as he navigates puberty, he is enough, today he knows it.

I can't say enough about Dr Kabel-Kotler! Her knowledge about behavioral health is immense. She has helped my children find tools to help them live happy and mentally healthy lives. She is kind,patient,and has built a trust and formed a connection with my whole family. You wont find better care for your child than with Dr Kabel- Kotler!

Dr. Caroline is a life changer, she introduced us to our son whom we just couldn't understand for 7 years of his life. She opened our eyes and has been right by our side through this wonderful journey. She's always available to us, nights, weekends, holidays. She is an advocate for my son at school. We have never felt like we had anyone who loved our kid and was a partner to him in his life until we met Dr. Caroline. Our son's brain is so beautiful and we were so tired of all the different answers from other doctors with no one really committed to getting to the heart of the matter. I'm so thankful we were blessed to find her.

Dr. Kotler has changed my world around. I came to her at the perfect time. She helped me believe in myself and know im worthy. She is skilled in all areas of especially when it comes to medication and understanding how the brain works. She in sympathetic and you never feel like you are being judged. Her office is a safe space where I always feel welcomed and loved. I recommend seeing Dr. Kotler if you have any type of mental health needs.

If you’re looking for a mental health care provider for your child, adolescent, or teen that will genuinely care about your child and family, fight for their educational rights, and be there whenever you need them, whether your in crisis or if you just have a routine question, Dr. Caroline Kotler is who you need. She’s a rock star who really knows her stuff. She’s funny and brings a sense of humor to her serious work. My daughter is always so excited for her visits because she knows she is loved by Dr. Caroline, as she calls her. A plus, her offfie is warm and inviting.

Dr. Kotler’s was referred to us by her psychologist that she had been seeing for the past years. She realize that our daughters anxiety needed treatment and addition to therapy. When we reached out to Dr. Kotler she contacted us that day to set up an appointment. My husband and I both attended the appointment with our daughter and we’re very impressed at how much time Dr. Kotler spent with us. The appointment was longer than anyone had ever spent with our child in this area. Her passion for what she does was obvious. She spent so much time gathering information as far back as I daughters toddler years. She helped us understand how our daughter‘s anxiety has been present her entire life and how it has played out in her life. She formally diagnosed our daughter and initiate a treatment. Our follow up visits have been wonderful, she follows our daughter extremely carefully and it’s very responsive to our concerns and questions. She’s become a true partner in our daughters care and our… opinions and feelings regarding treatment options matter to her and are considered. We feel seen and heard with Dr. Kotler and very comfortable Asking any questions, voicing any concerns, or reaching out to her at any time when we need her. I’ve texted her on a Saturday evening a few weeks ago and she answered right away and was there for our child in the moment. Dr. Kotler was is the right doctor at the right time for us and we’re so glad we found her. Strongly recommended!

I would NOT recommend Dr. Kotler. While Doctor Kotler does spend extra time with the patient, she comes into the initial appointment with a specific diagnosis already in mind and asks VERY leading questions to get the patient to answer questions agreeing with her pre-determined conclusions. She often does not listen to or take the child or parent's input. Dr. Kotler is very scattered and jumps to new medications and combinations before being able to tell if they are effective or not. On occasion, she could not read her own notes and forgot which medication and dosage she had last put my child on or how long it had been since the medication change. If your child has behavioral concerns that seem to go beyond that of what your pediatrician can handle, go see a child psychiatrist with specialized training and experience in behavioral health!

Dr. Kotler is absolutely brilliant; she treats our children not only with very personal care and an incredibly impressive, scientific mind, but as if they’re her own. Dr. Kotler connects with each teen and meets that individual where they are. She has extraordinary compassion and empathy but Dr. Kotler is tenacious for comprehensive answers where other medical professionals give up if things are atypically complex, medically speaking. Dr. Kotler is one others should use as their role model for making vulnerable patients feel seen, heard, precious and safe. Dr. Kotler is one who digs in, asks the right questions and elicits the answers that help make for positive changes not only medically, but academically, emotionally, and socially contributing to a students’ overall well-being. Don’t delay it for a minute - call and get in to visit with Dr. Kotler. There aren’t enough wonderful things to say about this genius mind.

Dr. Caroline has been our ninja warrior in our mental health plight with my two children. I never thought I would be "that parent" who would put their kid on meds because they couldn't handle being a good parent. I finally gave in when my son begged me to take him to the doctor because he was so depressed. To my surprise, my children were tested and both have ADD, depression, and anxiety. This is where we met and fell in love with the brilliant, compassionate, and loyal "Dr. Caroline" as we call her in our house. We have her on speed dial on our phones and she is always available when we are in need. I am a single parent and am so grateful to have her as an advocate. She is truly genius.
