Dr. Carolyn Ridenour Helmly, MD

I am shocked that a medical professional could be so mean. We needed a weekend referral for hospice care. My mom is suffering from metastatic cancer. Her pain became intolerable over the weekend. Dr. Helmly was on call for my mother’s physician. When I spoke with her she was indignant and annoyed that I’d made such a request of her and acted as if it couldn’t be done. (Hospice told us to call the MD ASAP for the referral.) Her demeanor was not softened when I had to speak over my mother’s screams of pain. Unreal. We received the referral through other means. She is completely out of touch with human suffering. Dr. Helmly should rethink her profession.

She is Rude condescending and over baring with little respect for what others want

Her attitude was suffer until you see a specialist. I won't give you anything for your discomfort in the mean time. I have 25 yrs experience and I've never seen or heard of this. She may not of but read/research, things do happen that you don't see in your small town practice.

I chose an internist as my primary physician due to several complex medical conditions. Very thorough initial appointment, Dr. is knowledgeable, and took the time to discuss issues and answer questions. Excellent bedside manner. Am pleased to have Dr Helmly as my primary physician.

She LISTENS to you. She makes you feel like what you think matters and listens to what you want to do.
