Dr. Carolyn Mc Donough Walsh, MD

Dr. Walsh is an excellent physician. My husband and I have been her patients for at least 12 years and we appreciate being able to entrust our healthcare to her.

I have been seeing Dr. Walsh, along with my family, for over 15 years. She's caring and listens well to everything going on with her patients, not just the immediate concern. I don't mind paying out of pocket and filing my own claims because the care my family receives is well worth the effort.

I had the misfortune of being a patient of this doctor for several years. I became apprehensive about the quality of care I was receiving when I realized that in over three years this woman had never performed a physical or even examined me. My complaint was severe abdominal cramps which she attempted to treat with antibiotics over a period of six months. She never performed, or even told me about, the many non-invasive diagnostic techniques fo my condition, such as a proctoscope, or sonogram. After lover a year of false diagnoses, I got a colonoscopy which discovered a cancerous tumor in my colon. Dr. Walsh]'s incompetence allowed my disease to become much worse. Beware of this 'physician'.

She refuses to see my sister although she was willing to private pay. My sister suffers from Lyme and mold toxicity and Dr Walsh refuses to run a Real Times mold toxicity test. So sad. My thought was if she was a holistic doctor she be willing to help My sister. I am a holistic doctor in Florida and am frustrated that I can’t find anyone in Virginia to help her. Really?

If you a weary of doctor's offices with giant staffs, crowded, noisy waiting rooms, dealing with a different doctor every time you go, try Dr. Walsh, She does not have a staff, but is personally more responsive than any doctor's office I have ever used. She DOES think out of the box and listens and talks with you at length. She is a brilliant doctor and a wonderful person. She has helped me manage and/or eliminate several complicated medical issues that previously went diagnosed or misdiagnosed. She does not take insurance, but the care she provides me is worth it.

Dr. Walsh is probably not for everyone. She doesn't take insurance. She doesn't have a big office with lots of staff. if these things are important, you won't get them with her so you should probably look elsewhere. What you will get is an amazing physician with vast medical knowledge, and a very personal experience. She talks to her patients, not AT them. She gets to know you, and remembers your conversations. She is also a good doctor. I spent 4 years trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I was told by a number of other doctors that nothing was wrong with me, or that I was a binge eater and was lying about it. Dr. Walsh had it diagnosed in one visit and blood test. I am on a very simple prescription and I finally feel good again. She is also very responsive via email or phone, and not having staff has never been a problem. In fact, its been a blessing because when I have a question, I don't go back and forth through a nurse. She answers me, and its… quick and painless. She understands and cares that cost is important, and always knows the most cost effective medication and where to get the them at the best price (COSTCO ya'll!!) She also does do referrals when necessary so don't believe the bad review. She is wonderful, plain and simple.

Dr Walsh is amazing. She has helped me further test & understand the implications of Lymes disease. She is thourough and listens to your concerns and treats you as a whole person.

She is the best doctor I have ever had.

At first I liked her very much. I went in with excrutiating leg pain which she said was caused by Lyme She thought inside the box and only gave me antibiotics. I finally went to another dr. after a year for herbs, as Dr. Walsh made it clear she doesn't work with herbs and I was having stomach issues from the antibiotics I was then sent for an MRI, I found out my leg pain was due to a history of back pain, and I am looking at potential surgery. Dr. Walsh knew I had a history of back pain and should have sent me for an MRI. I was unnecessarily on antibiotics for 9 months. I was Lyme positive but my symptoms were not related to Lyme and Have befn told now by 3 other dr's my pain has been from my back all along, I cannot rate staff as she has none.
