Dr. Carrie Springer Streim, MD

My child has only seen Dr. Inchalik at this practice, and we have nothing but praise for our experiences with him. In regards to Dr. Streim: On one of our recent visits, as we were waiting in the reception area, a young woman was called into see Dr. Streim. I looked up, since I had never seen Dr. Streim before, and was curious. A few moments later, Dr. Streim came back out to the waiting area and called for the father of the girl, who had stayed behind. They stood in the doorway that heads to the exam rooms. I was horrified to be able to easily hear her explaining the diagnosis to this parent. My child, who was sitting next to me, and could hear as well, asked me, "What's herpes?" This lack of discretion, whatever the diagnosis, made me uncomfortable. This was unprofessional, and disrespectful to the patient. I sincerely hope this is not a common occurrence.

Dr Streim is a real pro, an experienced , caring, and skilled pediatrician. She always has the time to speak with us about and explain everything thats important. Don't go anywhere else!

Upon check out I was shamed in front of everyone for my payment being almost delinquent. I came home in tears. My payment was not even due yet. The same secretary was rude again. I left without picking up my child's prescription and when I asked if she could verbally remind me to check out because I have young kids with me and i get distracted she pointed and replied, "There is a sign right here." Then she giggled. I don't think its funny to treat parents of sick children this way. Dr. Inchalik is a kind and respectable pediatrician. He deserves better. We adore him. The nurse is also nice, but I am at the end of my rope. How much abuse does my family have to put up with?

My kids have seen Dr. Inchalik in his Glastonbury office for almost eight years and it was a wonderfull caring environment. Since Dr. Inchalik moved to this Marlborough location over two years ago we have had an awful experience. The office is very bad. On multiple occasions, when I’ve called to make an appointment Ive been told my child cannot be seen and to go to urgent care instead. This was at 11:00 on a Friday. Another time I phoned in the middle of the day to make an appointment. They did not offer for me to speak with a nurse and told me to go to urgent care instead. When I complained about the lack of care and poor treatment the office manager apologized but I feel the staff is still seeking retribution. The front of the house hid behind their desks and ignored my children. I waited for a half hour in the waiting area before being told by the nurse the doctor was running behind. The worst part was when I picked up the prescription and was told it cost 250 dollars… without any warning by the doctor. This kind of stuff never happened before. Dr. Inchalik and his staff were so thoughtful, kind and professional. It is really too bad.

Dr. Streim has a very bad bedside manner. I have no idea why she delas with children. She has preconceived notions about the situation and does not listen. Go to a different doctor. Dr. Kumar is much better.

Always takes time during appointments to explain diagnosis and care & answer questions,

I found Dr Carrie Streim and her nurse Karen to want to "pass the buck" Instead of getting help and guidance from my childs pediatrician, I was shuffled off to an after hours care facility (I called to report my need to have my child seen in the morning, hours before closing) I was called back minutes before closing time to be told the script for poison ivy would not be called in. I told Karen how very disappointed I was with Dr Streim, crying on the phone as I am a single mother of 4 and was very upset. Karen said she would pass this on to the Dr. and to this day, I've never gotten a call back. My children have been under the care of Dr Streim for 20 years and to not get a call back was the last straw. Older and wiser mom now, I would never recommend Dr. Streim.

I should have left this pediatrician long ago. After 15 years and 4 kids she blew me away and blew me off when I called on a Friday afternoon regarding my son who had a long history of bad poison ivy, which he had just contracted. Coincidently, my son had just seen Dr Streim a week earlier for his annual physical and all checked out. Dr. Streim never called me back but did have her nurse call me 2 minutes before 5 ,just before they were closing to tell me that Dr. Streim could not call in the cortisone cream that she had called in for him in the past because she hadn't called it in for a few years. (she had just given him a thorough physical 7 days earlier. The nurse then proceeded to tell me the Dr. was gone for the day and I could go to the after hours clinic located 35minutes away from my house. I told her to please tell Dr. Streim how disappointed I was and that I expected more from my childrens pediatrician for more than 15 years than to have a nurse call to tell us to go to an… after hours clinic for a tube of cortisone cream for my sons inflamed poison ivy. I never did get a call back from her and that was over a month ago.

She did not remember things that we had discussed in previous visits and seemed to simply be giving a set speech not answering my specific questions.She gave recommendations that are CONTRARY to the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines and could have resulted in early weaning. She is out of date and does not pay attention- go elsewhere.
