Dr. Cary Mitchell Berwald, MD

Dr. Berwald treats her patient like her own child. Very patient, takes time and ask a lot of questions. We are very happy with her. Thank you Dr. Berwald for an excellent physician.

Dr. Berwald is very caring and does not rush through her appointments. She is also an excellent diagnostician.

Dr. Berwald was incredible at making us feel like we were her only patients. Visits were a joy for us as parents. The biggest compliment that I could a pediatrician is to say that my child enjoyed coming to the visits. Our daughter LOVED Dr. Berwald. We had to move out of the area and she is one of the people we miss most!

I too came upon Dr. Berwald by chance as my OB shares the same office suite, and have recommended her to everyone I know ever since. She is one of the few physicians in NYC that I've met that truly takes her time with each patient, and has always been so caring and friendly in her interactions with us. We are moving out of state in the next year and losing Dr. Berwald as my son's pediatrician is going to be one of our greatest losses in leaving NYC. Consider yourself lucky to have her as your child's doctor!

I don't know what else to say but that Dr. Berwald is an excellent doctor.

My son is 3 and has a speech delay and some sensory integration issues. Instead of jumping to a quick, easy, blanketed "Autism Spectrum" diagnosis as many other Dr's we've seen are wont to do, Dr Berwald carefully listened to us explain his behaviors and is working with us to figure out exactly what his issues are, so that they can be addressed appropriately. I found her to be intelligent, kind, and very very decent. Not at all condescending. Took a great deal of time talking with us. A truly lovely person.The front desk is 50-50. Sometimes, you get the friendly, helpful woman but sometimes you get the rude, obnoxious one.

You don't really know how good a doctor is until your child gets sick. I just switched to Dr. Berwald after my son got a high fever and was in distress. My regular pediatrician was not available and two of my friends recommended Dr. Berwald. Even though my son was not her patient, she saw him immediately. She not only treated him, but followed up with a call to see how he was doing. My son got better rapidly. I would highly recommend Dr. Berwald.

Dr. Berwald is just a phenomenal pediatrician. I didn't know how lucky I was when I chose her to care for my children. She is incredibly knowledgeable, professional and caring. She has consistently diagnosed my children's problems accurately and provided the appropriate treatment. She is not one of those doctors to just "process" you -- she absolutely takes the time to spend with my children and answer any questions I may have. I recommend her without any reservations.

I'm glad she takes care of my kids. What impresses me is that she cares about total wellbeing. She cares about happiness, performance and behavior of my kids.

At 36, I was having my first child. I was kind of nervous. I went to Dr. Berwald because she was in the same group as my Obstetrician and my boss, who makes it her business to get the best of everything, said Dr. Berwald was her kids' doctor. She came to the hospital when I delivered and spoke to me. I don't want to give my personal information, but Dr. Berwald is a really good doctor and I consider what she did was well beyond what I thought a doctor would do. She not only reassured me and gives my child the best care, but she treats me like I am a friend.
