I pursued a career in medicine because I love helping patients design a tailored plan to meet their individual needs and goals, and I enjoy creatively solving problems. \n While serving in the Navy as an ob-gyn doctor and surgeon, I studied urogynecology with a fellowship-equivalent experienced physician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. \n Sharing knowledge is something I'm passionate about, and teaching is an important component of what I do. I'm a teaching surgeon and lecturer for sacral neuromodulation implants for bowel and bladder incontinence (Medtronic's InterStim) and am on the clinical faculty at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and Memorial Health University Medical Center (OB-GYN residency training program in Savannah, Georgia) for urogynecology.\n I'm a double board-certified urogynecologist with over 20 years of experience in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery (the new official name of our subspecialty). I treat urinary …and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, gynecologic reconstruction, recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), overactive bladder, urinary urgency and frequency, painful intercourse, chronic constipation, advanced gynecology surgery needs, and more. \n In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons, and enjoying the beautiful city and natural coastal area around us in Charleston, South Carolina.

Dr. Fishburne is the best! Very thorough, patient and focused on the individual. I’m almost sad that I’ll have no reason to see him again when my post-op course is finished. He is incredible!

I went to Dr Fishburn with kidney stones and left several months later with that issue resolved as well as 2 others that I was too embarrassed to even ask a doctor about. He changed my life.

Dr Fishbure is so concerned about getting to know his patients and actually takes the time to go over EVERY thing and explain every option for your care . I've never in my life met such a caring doctor and his staff is amazing . I am so lucky to have been referred to him after all the problem I had experienced .I will be a loyal patient from now on !!! He made my life so much more manageable and I'm so greatful to him !!!!!!!

Dr. Fishburne and his staff are the best! From the diagnosis, through the surgery, they were awesome. The only difficult part was finding the office the first time.

Dr. Fishburne is very easy to talk with and seemed genuinely to care about correcting my problem. He was knowledgeable and very personable when discussing it. My experience with him and his staff was very positive.

I'm 37 with my 1st pregnancy, an anxiety sufferer and bad experiences with docs all my life. Once I met Dr. Fishburne, I knew I was receiving the best care. He makes everything so easy to understand and explains things beautifully. I'm a single parent doing this alone but he doesn't make you feel alone. He listens to issues/problems and takes quality time to explain and answer questions. I have been receiving top notch care from him and Presbyterian Huntersville/University. Thank you and I pray you are in the delivery room!
