Dr. Casey-Sue Renee Bonaquist

I’m jumping on this band wagon. So frustrated by the staff and also feeling very unheard and taken advantage of by Dr. Bonaquist and her office staff. She just wants money and won’t make it easy to get refills on prescriptions. The office staff is rude and will blow you off. After asking to speak to a manager over 10 times, they would tell me to leave a message and the manager would call me back… no one ever got back with me. They don’t care about you, they care about getting your money. Find another provider.

The poor rating is for this office; however since the office has stated that they work for Dr. Bonaquist, the poor rating extends to her also. Interestingly, I experienced the best patient care ever with Dr. Martinez; however, things changed when he left and I was assigned to Dr. Bonaquest. For example, after the office staff told me that I had a prescription refill left and stated that CVS Caremark had the issue, they recanted and said I had no refills left and that I had to come in and be charged for a visit to get a refill...this, after spending so much time on the phone with CVS and Anthem. To me it seems it is all about generating money through office visits. Dr. Martinez was not like that; every year at my checkups he would set up my medication to last until my next checkup. He took so much time to get to know me, and he showed he really cared. When he left, all of a sudden, I had to come in for more visits to get meds I have been taking for 20 years. When I talked to the office… manager, who said she was my advocate, she stated that if I did not want to get charged for these visits, I should look for another physician. I have never been treated this way. I suggest avoiding this office, but not necessarily Baptist as I have had other pleasant experiences with them.

Dr Bonaquist is ok but the poor rating is for the office. I had a doctor visit that was not required and they charged me for the visit. Note that I had argued with them before making the appointment but they said that I had to come in if I wanted my prescription filled. The doctor confirmed during the visit that I did not need to come in since I had been there 9 months ago. They would not cancel cost of visit but instead asked me to see why my insurance did not cover the entire cost of the visit.

Dr. Bonaquist is far more concerned with pointless office visits to generate profit than she does about patient care. She makes you come in every few months and spends 5 minutes with you after waiting for 45 minutes. She's vague and doesn't seem to know how to communicate with patients. She will ask you two quick questions and it's over. Thanks for the $150 "visit". The staff is rude too. Watch out. Avoid Dr. Bonaquist.

It may not be the doctors fault that the office manager provided terrible customer service. But by vote is thumbs down and recommend you choose a different facility

Horrible Experience! Got out of the hospital with pneumonia and was told to follow up with primary care doctor the next day so went in to see Dr. Bonaquist without an appointment and she made me wait in a patient room for 3 hours (from 11-1pm) before coming into see me. I was extremely sick, coughing continuously and hadnt been able to sleep in days because of the coughing. When she finally came in after she also went to lunch, knowing I was waiting and the entire clinic could hear me coughing continuously, she said patients with appointments are the priority and was very rude and non empathetic. I understand appointments are the priority however, medical emergencies happen and I’m sure any other patient would understand a doctor taking 10 minutes to check on a very sick patient with pneumonia. Also, take levathyroxin for my thyroid and Dr. Bonaquist makes getting mail order refills nearly impossible! I have been on levathyroxine at the same .75 micrograms for years from previous… doctor that I had for years prior to moving to Florida/Nocatee. This is a very common medication, not at all a controlled substance. First she didn’t approve the mail order because she said I had to come in for a lab draw which is typical once a year for hypothyroid before she would renew my prescription but once I did the labs and everything was fine, she denied the renewal again saying I had to come in for an office visit every 6 months. I have never heard of or experienced having to have 6 month office visits outside of the once a year physicals and in my opinion is another way to charge for an office visit. You would have thought I was trying to get a prescription for a controlled substance or something. After a year of these type of bad experiences and rude office staff, and lack of follow through and doctor/nurses not returning phone calls, I changed primary care doctors even though the convenience of the Nocatee location was ideal. The staff could not even get that right. I went into the office to fill out the form to have my medical records transferred and they sent request to my new doctor asking for their records. I immediately got a call from my new primary care office asking if I was leaving. I absolutely was not leaving and called Dr. Bonaquist office to ensure my medical records were transferred to the new office. I also inquired as to why the mistake of request when I came in and filled out the form in person. I was told someone would call me back and no one ever did! They still have not transferred my medical records so when I asked if I could pick up my records and hand deliver them to my new doctor they said they would have to charge me $1 per page. Absolutely rediculous! Never have I experienced such poor customer service. Worst medical practice ever! Location is great but service and medical care is significantly below average.

Great "bedside manner" Gives the impression of caring. When I refused her multitude of vaccines (flu, meningitis, shingles--(which later was recalled) cuz of problems in the past----she lost interest. Obvious from her summary sheets-- While I still went to office for various prescriptions, infections etc. she herself NEVER saw me again. Note: I have insurance and am affluent, so it was never a money issue to me. Obviously to her, that's the ONLY issue.

My husband and I both are patience of Doctor Bonaquist. She is smart, interested in her patient, and fights for your best interest. We are impressed with this fine doctor.
