Dr. Cassandra Ohlsen, MD

Dr. Ohlsen is an extremely experienced, professional doctor who is known to be very friendly, courteous and professional. Dr. Ohlsen is caring and takes the time to listen to my concerns and addresses each one thoroughly. I have been a patient of hers for decades, and hope to continue for another 20 years. Her staff is always friendly and very efficient. Would I recommend her to others? Absolutely!! And, I have :-)

Went in ill gave her a some symptoms was told I had to pick one problem because she didn't have time to address all of them....I tried to tell her that I was just giving her all I felt in hopes that they would lead to one problem! She needs to retire and write her books full time.

Would not test me for Epstein Barr when I asked her to very ill in her office crying unable to stand up even. Literally said ‘I’m not doing any more tests on you’ no sympathy a complete witch !!! 18 months later bedridden and VERY VERY SICK I have / had Epstein Barr virus !!!

Just got a letter saying she can no longer be my dr as we’re ‘not the right fit’ . I went to her feeling awful and asked her to do blood tests for Epstein Barr/mono said she was going to do no more blood tests for me and that Epstein Barr is bogus !!! Well 13 months of Epstein Barr and 9 months bedridden is not bogus !! Got the test done and yes positive . She also dropped my neighbor too which made me feel better ... unkind lady .. no sympathy a very very hard woman whom I’m sure has never shed a tear !

Dr. Ohlsen is a great diagnostician..and gives in depth personal service. She doesn't run late--your appointment starts on time...so you have to show up on time!

I am a very busy woking professional and made it to my appointment 9 minutes late. The receptionist informed me that my appointment had been cancelled and I needed to reschedule. I asked when? She offered the next available appointment 6 weeks out! It took me over six weeks just to make the appointment. The receptionist was extremely rude. I asked to speak to the manager and she was just as rude. Dr Ohlsen overheard and came out and she was over the top rude. I work in the healthcare industry where we overly accommodate our patients because we know that situations arise in whether it be traffic or one's work schedule. I said this was unacceptable and they did not offer any concession to bee seen earlier or offer empathy in their explanations. This Doctor must be a German doctor because it certainly felt like Hitler was coming out of her personality. I DO NOT recommend anyone be under her care. Cold as ice!

Noâ?  sue she is taking new patients. BUT, if she is, she is sharp, caring and LISTENS!

I recently called to make a new patient appointment for my mom and was discriminated against. The receptionist asked if my mom spoke English and I said no so they told me they weren't sure if they could serve us. How do they know if she wasn't planning to bring a translator - how horrible to know that a medical provider would deny medical attention based on language!!!!

you see all these books on dieting and wellness, but you see nothing on gastric bypass, lapband etc. Why not, what is good for the doctor,should be good for the patient or are we just pretending the bypass never happened.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ohlsen's for several years. Her front staff has improved considerably. Amanda, her medical assistant is wonderful. Dr. Ohlsen is hit or miss. I feel like she has good days and bad days. I initially stuck with her because I felt she was thorough and knowledgeable, and I liked her no nonsense approach. She has always seemed respectful. What I don't like is her lack of physical exams. I cannot remember the last time she actually examined me. I know a lot of diagnosis comes from history, but if you don't LOOK at the patient, you may just miss your diagnosis. I also have not been happy with the specialists she has referred me to. Her follow up is okay, but twice I have received major test results ( echo-cardiogram and MRI) from the receptionist. If Dr. Ohlsen cannot make the call, she should at least have her med assistant do it. Once it was left on my message machine and the explanation of the results made no sense ( I don't know if she was trying to put it… into layman's terms or if she just did not understand the results herself...I think its the latter). I have liked Dr. Ohlsen enough that I keep going back, but a recent 1 minute appt has me reconsidering. I expect more than this.
