Dr. Cassilda James, MD

Dr. James diagnosed me with Celiac Disease based on bloodwork performed by another specialist. She instructed me to begin a gluten free diet IMMEDIATELY, yet gave me no information or support. When I suggested that I see a gastroenterologist to conclusively determine if I had this problem, she said it was unnecessary. During a follow-up visit with Dr. James to review some other testing she had performed, she NEVER ONCE asked about the change in my diet or if I had any questions. I truly believe she had forgotten about it. Then when I mentioned the fact that I hadn't felt well since the birth of my son and asked if that could have contributed to some of the other health issues I was having, she told me to "stop blaming my son for my problems". She cautioned me that the birth of my child should be a "happy occassion", and not something I should use as to why I have not been well. I was appalled by her outright rudeness and ignorance. Considering so many women suffer from postpartum… depression or other post-delivery traumas, a medical professional should NEVER speak like this to a patient. Dr. James also scoffed when I asked for my bloodwork in order to see an autoimmune specialist. She said that it "wasn't necessary". Strange, considering her diagnosis of Celiac Disease,(which I believe is incorrect), is an AUTOIMMUNE DISORDER! Absolutely horrible.
