Dr. Catherine L Louise Casto, MD

Dr. Castro saves my babies life. I had hyperemisis through my entire pregnancy and the other doctors at the office she worked out we’re not very proactive in caring for me or my baby. I then was diagnosed with preeclampsia but was sent home and told I’d be induced at a later date. I went in for NST and ultrasound and Dr. Casto felt it was ridiculous to wait any longer and sent me to the hospital. At the hospital it was found my baby wasn’t growing properly and eventually after he was in distress during induction Dr. Casto did a C section. Because of her we didn’t wait any longer for induction or C section and my baby is happy and healthy. She is very frank so if you don’t like that don’t go to her but I love that she is straight forward.

My experience with Dr. Casto was a complete nightmare. I was visiting the area from out of state and had a miscarriage which led me to use her services. She did a D&C, which went smoothly BUT then had her nurse call to tell me that my lab work showed a molar pregnancy, which necessitated getting bloodwork every week to rule out cancer. I was very confused and upset about this and Dr. Casto refused to speak with me to further explain anything. When I finally (after a huge headache) was able to get ahold of the lab work that her nurse was referring to it did not mention a molar pregnancy anywhere and, according to my regular doctor, there was no reason to think I had one at all. Upon hearing this, I called Dr. Casto’s office several times to try and get her explaination about why she believed such was the case as I wanted to be sure I could stop getting my blood drawn. Neither Dr. Casto nor anyone at her office ever called me back. Because of her lack of attention and care I ended up… going through the misery of a miscarriage and also a cancer scare. It was the worst experience of my life. This woman should not be practicing medicine.

I would give Dr. Casto a negative rating if there was an option. Horrible bedside manner. In contempt to actively listen to a patients concerns as she is too busy pushing her own agenda and ordering unnecessary diagnostic testing instead of reviewing baseline health history. Seemingly judgemental, cold natured, and pompous. I would not recommend this doctor to any friend or family.

Dr. Casto is a very professional and caring physician. She is personable and a great doctor. I would highly recommend her.
