Dr. Catherine Cordero Parrish, MD

Dr. Parrish really created extra breast feeding issues for me when I brought my daughter to see her. I was struggling with my milk supply and she pushed rather strongly for me to switch to formula. She kept saying that she was raised on formula and she is a doctor so I shouldn't worry about it. Breast feeding is important to me and so I kept going. She told me that I needed a nipple shield and then showed me how to apply it. Turns out I not only did not need a shield but she showed me how to apply it incorrectly which further impacted my milik supply. I found out later that she has a reputation for providing out dated advice related to breast feeding and pushing mothers to formula. I would not see her if you have any breast feeding issues or plan to follow attachment parenting.

My two daughters have been seeing Dr. P for almost 5 years and we feel like she is our health advocate and friend. Her office is well run and Dr. P although extremely busy is always willing to answer questions and make sure my daughters are healthy physically and developmentally. When my daughter had surgery Dr. P checked in with her and the follow-up made us more confident in her recovery. Dr. P is more "old-school" than other peds but since we believe in vaccinations and I truly believe in a blend of easter/western medicine she is a great match for me and my family.
