Dr. Catherine Namara Gabel, MD

I had my appointment with her at 10 and I saw her until almost 11:30, she barely spends time with the patients. The medication she gave me had a lot of side effects!! I don’t recommend her!

Very little doctor and client interaction. Questions are quickly dismissed. Follow up calls are not by doctor but by nurse with very little explanation.

I have only gone to Dr. Gabel once. I liked the office and the TV in the examination room also helps to ease you; however there wasn't much to my well woman exam and I thought more should have been done. It was one of the quickest exams I have had and I felt like it wasn't thorough, but overall the Dr. is nice.

I called multiple times over several weeks to get my results which were never explained to me. I haven't heard from the doctor since my appointment (2 months ago). After 3 weeks of calling they finally tell me *some* of my results including a diagnosis of a yeast infection. .......I DIDN'T HAVE A YEAST INFECTION! I will never go back nor will I recommend Piney Point.

I would not recommend Dr. Gabel or the Piney Point Womens Center. I was told early on that they schedule inductions for around 39weeks and "dont let" you go past your due date. I had a perfect pregnancy with no reason for an induction. Being miserable and easily swayed, at my 39w appt we scheduled a induction for that night. 1cm and 75%. I stalled at 3cm and after an hour got checked again (hourly checks), I was still a 3 and she told me she'll give me another hour and if Im still 3, then we need to discuss c section. I was shocked. I expected as a first timer to be in labor for hours, not to be threatened with a CS after 2 hours at 3cm. I asked for more time and ultimately after 4 hours at 3cm, we had a CS. I regret consenting to it, as I shouldve been given more time. She told me with her first baby she pushed for 3 hours before having a CS and she wouldnt do that to me. But how does she know that would happen to me? Scare tactics. She was not supportive of my wishes, even though me… and baby were just fine and not having any problems in labor. I never went back. Now Im 7mo pregnant again and found a VBAC doctor and will avoid interventions as much as possible!

Dr Gabel is a very wonderful and down to earth doctor.I would recommend her over and over again.

Dr. Gabel is a wonderful OB-GYN. I would like to mention that when she was at Hillcroft Med. Ctr. the wait time was longer (15-20min). Now that she has Piney Point Women's Center the wait time is so much shorter! : ) I am very comfortable with her and she's been my doctor for five years. She is sweet, smart, listens to me and provides answers to all my questions. Thank you Dr. Gabel!

I have had Dr. gabel as my OB for 9 years...in the beginning when I was going just for my annual visits, I appreciated her genuine interest in my well-being, but was always sensitive to my time, so I could always get back to work before my lunch break was over. But, with each of my pregnancies, she was willing to sit and chat about anything I needed addressed (which was a lot during my first pregnancy!). She knows more about me than my husband does! There were times I felt like she was my therapist :). I highly recommend her to anyone!

Our experience with her was not good. You need to ask questions to get something out of her and she hardly spends few minutes. She scheduled/induced our baby one week before the due date for no major reason. we had no choice but to go for the delivery. we will not go back.

She has been my ob/gyn for 11 years, and she is GREAT . She delivered all 3 of my kids by c-section due to complications with every pregnancy, and I trust her completely. She is a very caring doctor, and has a wonderful bedside manner. I have to drive quite a distance now to see her, but I do so because I can't imagine going to anyone else. Highly recommend her!!!
