Dr. Catherine Marie Newton, MD

We scheduled our toddler’s first appointment with her after switching to Kaiser and we will never schedule another appointment with her again. Despite arriving to our appointment on time and getting checked in and sent to the exam room immediately, we then had to wait an hour and 15 minutes in the exam room for the doctor to see us due to being severely overbooked. When she finally came in, she didn’t acknowledge being late nor apologize about it. When we asked if this wait was normal, she seemed very annoyed, was still unapologetic, and simply said that this was a typical day for her. The rest of the visit wasn’t any better since she seemed in a rush to get through our appointment so that she can get caught up with her overbooked schedule. In addition, many of our questions were quickly dismissed with little to no explanations and the physical check up was very brief and not thorough. Was also unfriendly and a bit rough touching and handling our toddler.

Very unfriendly and she doesn’t like her job, felt very not welcome

She is snotty, unfriendly and her tone of voice with me was very condescending. I had to take my children to see her when their regular doctor was unavailable and it was one of the worst experiences with a doctor. We somehow got to talking about childcare and she assumed I don’t have to pay for child care, it was weird, I guess I looked like a poor person to her.

Everytime I have visited Dr. Newton, she has pinpointed the problem and provided resolution. She is very polite, courteous and has an honest personality. She won't rush you out like other doctors would and will ensure all your questions are answered. She has practically cured my son of his SEVERE Eczema. Upon her recommendation, we had my son tested for allergies and now that we know what to avoid, his eczema cleared up significantly. She also prescribed the same medication her son (who also has eczema) uses and now my son's flare-ups are 80-90% controlled. I am so glad we ended up with Dr. Newton as my son's pediatrician.
