Dr. Cathleen Louise Murphy, DO

My wife and began seeing Dr Murphy over 15 years ago when she was in lewis center, we brought all of our children to her as well. We stuck with Dr Murphy when she had to leave lewis center and moved all the way to Arlington for a year, then she moved again to westerville. We live in Marysville and travel a good distance to see her, on my last visit (2:15 PM appointment) I was stopped by a train in Marysville and arrived in the parking lot at 2:24. They have a 10 minute late policy, I met the receptionist at 2:26PM their time (they have a large click on the counter) or 11 minutes late. I looked up and saw Dr. Murphy looking at me, she turned away quickly as if not to have seen me. The receptionist said I would have to reschedule my appointment. I looked at the clock and I’m now 2 minutes beyond their policy and requested that the receptionist please check with Dr Murphy, I said she knows I’m here. She left and came back after speaking with Dr Murphy and told me No I would have to… reschedule. Now this is the second time that I have taken time off from work, driven all the way from Marysville only to be told to reschedule in a very cold way by the very unfriendly staff, the previous time was even worse. I had arrived 5 minutes late but had to sit and wait for the receptionist to finish helping someone else. I waited and waited, all while there were 2 other staff right there that could have helped me but ignored me. When I got to check in I was told that I had to reschedule. Unbelievable, now I know I was ultimately at fault the second time but you would think that being 1 minute late you would not be turned away after driving over 30 miles. I can’t even tell you the many times over the years that my family and I had to commonly wait 10-15 minutes in the lobby before we even got taken to a room and wait another 5-10-15 minutes or more. I guess the policy doesn’t go both ways. I don’t care how good Dr. Murphy is at her practice she clearly cares little about her patients if she will so flippantly turn away a 15+ year patient, even after looking right at them. After 15+ years of following her through all of her career changes, moves and waiting every time I saw her I will never see or recommend anyone to her or anyone at this entire practice. WORST Customer service EVER. Oh, and Your welcome for all of the additional patients I got you over the years! *Most disappointed *

I have been seeing Dr. Murphy for almost eight years. I am a big fan of D.O.'s and she is very good. She takes the time to listen and also asks good probing questions to ensure she is getting the "big" picture. She is kind and empathetic. Even though my new insurance considers her "out of network" I still pay more to continue to see her. While there have been issues with the admin staff over the years, I think their current staff is very good.
