Dr. Cecilia Ching-Sum Chu, MD

My experience with Dr. Chu has been nothing but positive. She is one of the best doctors I've ever come across. She makes me feel human and gives me straight forward answers. She's honest and kind. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about her. I am so bummed she is no longer doing OB because I would love to have her deliver my babies. I will continue to see her for all of my other needs though as I really enjoy her (as you can tell lol). I don't understand all of the negative reviews! I am an RN and I have worked with and also seen a lot of bad and very average doctors and Dr. Chu is NOT one of them! She is very knowledgeable and knows what she's talking about. She answers questions I have before I even have to ask her! 100% recommend.

She took care of my wife from the first visit till the postpartum, unfortunately we moved to OH and we are missing her??

I never heard of HPV except on the TV ads for the vaccine for girls and boys and now women. HPV has all sorts of nasty happenings that go along with it. Not only cervical & vaginal cancers but oral and anal cancers too. The is no test for men. But this is a STD. All this from Dr. Chu who was kind, understanding, and explained it to me. She is professional, kind, sincere, honest, and most of all doesn't mind answering any questions you have for her. Anything goes here to make you feel you are important to her. Not many doctors like this in the world today.

I have to say I do not agree with some of these ratings. I have been going to Dr. Chu for a year, had surgery and couldnt recommend a better doctor and staff. My daughter-in-law tried getting pregnant for 3 years with another OBGYN and within 6 weeks of her intial visit with Dr. Chu she is pregnant!She is straigt and to the point. Exactly what you need in a Good Doctor!

Very busy since she is the only doctor in the office, but very knowledgeable. Some people find her too matter of fact, but I appreciate that!

my residence. The front office rep was friendlier once I offered to pay cash and very adamant upon payment up front prior to any service or further explanation of this would-be invoice. I was not comfortable with the lack of intelligible information regarding the invoicing (whether diagnostic codes and explanations would be available) and the spiel about me being on my own in getting the needed documentation to the insurance carrier and that once I make the cash payment Dr. Chus office is out of the loop (aka off the hook). If this sits well with you, then maybe your nerves are made out of titanium because mine are made of steel.

-cold-always rushing-she's not caring-poor office staffs-wait time is 2-3 hours or more because she overbooked her patients so she only spends 5-10 minutes with you.-she will never answer your questions if it's not pregnancy related. She will tell you to ask your primary doctor.-her habit: "are there any other questions?" it's like you're having a job interview or you're talking to your teacher

I was referred to this doctor by my insurance company and what can I say, I am seriously contemplating switching. She does not take the time during appointments. She stands on the counter makes notes and speaks fast. Once I told her I have developed rashes on my thighs and arms and she hurriedly said, "Well if it's not on the abdomen, then it's not pregnancy related. Go see your family doctor." She didn't even bother to look at my rashes. I read about Prurigo gestationis and this aptly describe what I have, Google was better at keeping me informed than her, but I am now seriously on the hunt for a new OB-GYNE.

I would not recommend this doctor for anyone who would like a positive, supportive, nurturing, caring, and attentive to your emotional needs during pregnancy type of experience. Her bedside manner and caring is lacking and she is cold, abrupt, and will cut you off with her strong opinions or make you feel silly for some of your questions. You will have very little time with her because she double-triple books her appointments. She will not even sit during the appointment but just lean on the counter and tap her pen until you're done talking.Now, with that being said, she is an AMAZINGLY thorough doctor when it comes to your/baby's medical needs. She is highly recommended because she is very talented at practicing medicine. So you have to weight how important is her demeanor compared to her lack of personality/caring to you?
