can't reach him when you need him, appointments are constantly cancelled and when you get in you only see him for a couple minutes, doesn't actually listen to what you have to say or care about what is going on

It's so sad when a surgeon's office doesn't answer their phones. This doctor has already closed one office in Lady Lake, and now has one office in Leesburg. Sadly, if his office staff doesn't answer the phones, how are potential or existing patients or referring doctors' offices can't reach anyone at his office to arrange appointments? His past patients can't reach him to have him help them again. I'm not sure how this man can stay in business with this terrible work ethic. He also had quite a reputation at the Leesburg and The Villages hospital for being hours late for surgeries with no excuse and no apologies. They say Dr. Tankston has quite a god complex. So sad. The central Florida medical community who is making boatloads of money off retired folks who have relocated to The Villages and other retirement communities is abysmal at best. Dr. Tankston is adding to that horrible reputation. Well done, doc!

never available, waited 6 weeks to get a post op appointment, front office staff was not pleasant and incompetent. Blew off my questions and concerns.

My wife required ankle surgery. The best doctors in Orlando recommended fusion. We did not want to have the ankle fused because the results are always terrible. We were referred to the world renown Mercy Hospital at Baltimore Foot & Ankle Institute, where Dr. Myerson implanted his patented ankle joint prosthesis. Myerson required that post surgery we commute to Dr. Tankson in Leesburg for vital follow up care. Dr. Tankson is EXCEPTIONALLY well qualified as an orthopedic surgeon. It's been seven years later and her ankle is perfect. Don't let less well trained doctors fuse your ankle. We are so fortunate to have Dr. Tankson in our area.

OK - from arrival to departure took 3 hrs & 10 mins! No joke - this was just to review a set of Xrays & give an opinion on results. Unacceptable -- several people seem to booked at the exact same time, making no seating room in the waiting room & very long, long, long waits out there & in the exam room. People (new also) came in for later appt. & were taken BEFORE us? Front desk receptionist should ONLY be taking care of paperwork of incoming patients & NOT answer any phone calls! OR she needs an asst. who can help with 1/2 the load.

Dr Tankson is an excellent caring doctor. He told me on the day of surgery that he would be in to see me at 8:30 the following morning and I would be discharged no later than noon. He was 15 minutes late but I was discharged by 11:00. That was great. Dr Tankson takes a very conservative approach and my recovery went extremely well.

Dr.Tankson operated on my thumb which was dislocated playing softball. He did a great jobexplaining what had to be done and advised mywife what he did immediately after my surgery. Even the operating room nurses said he was one of the better orthopedic surgeond in the villages

Outstanding!! He makes you feel at ease, spends as much time with you as you want or need. Tells you what needs to be done, and a time frame it should take until you are fully recovered.

Great Man! Was able to fix my previously botched Achilles tendon repair in record time. Honest, caring and extremely capable.

Excellent surgery on a very difficult and badly damaged limb. Is working with me during a long rehab and has suggestions about further treatments. Very knowledgeable and competent.
