Dr. Celeste Elvera Atkinson, MD

When I could access records electronically, I found erroneous information Dr. Atkinson provided. The person in charge of electronic patient records never returned calls regarding problem of “system downs” so I asked IT person to cancel account. Please check your records as mistakes may occur through miscommunication or what Dr. Atkinson erroneously perceives she heard you say. She also keeps notes of comments you may say during exam and will convey them in future in a harsh manner that will leave you perplexed and feeling disrespected. On initial visit, Dr. Atkinson presented as caring but subsequent visits during year of her referrals to other specialists, labs, MRIs, x-rays, etc., she sat focused on her laptop, answered questions in a terse, rushed manner. Her response to worsening of ongoing conditions was to restart referrals to specialists (second opinions), repeat lab tests, etc., lasting another year or more of appointments which would again culminate with an office visit… with her rushing to get out of the room in 15 minutes so she can generate another Tests list. Dr. Atkinson’s assistant, Isabelle, provided the only constant of kind professionalism while attaining vitals, other info relative for office visit. The front office staff and appointment receptionists provide excellent service.

I saw Dr. Atkinson the end of May due to a rapid heart rate. I had also brought up that occasionally my legs and hands shake uncontrollably... My previous physician had told me to not worry, they were benign tremors but I should just see a neurologist "just in case." Well, Dr. Atkinson knew right off the bat that I had hyperthyroidism and had noticed my nodule. She ran labs to just be sure and was 100 % accurate with my diagnosis. She set me up with the appropriate scans, endocrinologist and medications that were needed to control my heart rate. In addition she explains Graves and Hyptheroidism so in depth and easy for me to understand.I later saw and endocrinologist and was put on a medication that cause an allergic reaction, needless to say Dr. Atkinson was there. She was more than caring and had an absolutely amazing bedside manner. She checked in and prescribed the proper meds that were needed. I am honestly so very thankful to have her as my primary care physician.

My experience with the office and Doctor Atkinson was a good one. The wait time was good and the medical assistant was pleasant Doctor Atkinson was caring and attentive to my needs and I feel comfortable with every visit with her.I am very happy with her being my primary care physician.
