Dr. Celia Webb Blackburn, MD

Tried to convince me that I was diabetic. People from her office kept calling me at my work trying to convince me to get my blood drawn. I told them I have no symptoms of diabetes and to stop harrassing me at work. They threatened to not refill my medication because I was not doing what they wanted. Felt I had no say in my care. Dr. Blackburn charts the entire time that she is in the room with me. Felt like I was never a priority and she was in a hurry. Have never been treated like this before and never will it happen again.

I have been a patient of Dr. Blackburn for 10+ years. I I live 30 minutes away from her office, but the drive is worth it to me. I could see a doctor closer to home, but I choose to stay with Dr. Blackburn because she is thorough, kind, non hurried, trustworthy and has good instincts and is incredibly knowledgable. I trust her. Over 10 years ago when I went to my first appointment with her regarding some serious (yet mysterious) symptoms, she was the first (of a few) doctors who didn't treat me like I was crazy then send me home with no relief. She listened, validated my feelings and concerns and immediately ordered diagnostic tests that helped to zero in on the problem. Within a week I had a surgery that repaired a functional problem with a peritoneal shunt and I felt like a new person. I am incredibly grateful to have an amazing doctor!

went to see her about my toe nail turning black and after waiting for her for an hour and when she looked at my toe she had this disgusting look on her face which was very shocking to me because you would think as a doctor she would see more disgusting things than my black toe nail. well she didn't even look at my to toe nail very well or touch it to examined. i felt like it was just a random person checking out my toe, very unprofessional! She's didn't try to connect with me and her tone wasn't very nice. I changed my doctor and never went to her again.

I took my mom in because she was complaining about her back. Dr. Blackburn was looking at moms X-ray that she had from a few years ago and told my mom she has arthritis and my mom was upset that she had the X-ray for a few years and they never told her about it. Then my mom was more upset when Dr Blackburn told my mom "that's just what happens when we get older, we fall a part and wait to die there's nothing I can do". I was upset with the choice of words she's chose to use. And with her tone she acted like she don't really care for her patients. When we left the hospital after seeing her my mom was so upset and freaked out about she said I felt like she needed therapy because my mom keep say "is that what the rest of my Life coming down to? I'm just wait to fall apart and die?" After calming her down I told her that I'm going to change her Dr and will get a second opinion. Even tho there was nothing Dr. Blackburn could of done about my mom's arthritis, she should have been more… sympathetic and not tell her that's just what happens when you get older, you fall apart and wait to die. I told my sister what had happen with our visit with Dr Blackburn and she told me that she did the same thing to her and her daughter so they also changed their doctor. She didn't know that was my mom's doctor or she would have to my mom to change her doctor. We were very unhappy with her.

Dr. Blackburn knows what she is doing and does care about her patients. She is busy, but she connects well and follows up when you need it. Those who work in her office are also very good at their jobs and care about patients.

I was having chest pains. She came in an hour late, never even touched me and gave me a diagnosis of osteoporosis (which later turned out to be wrong). Good thing I wasn't having a heart attack. Avoid this one.

I would never recommend her to anyone. Her PA is absolutely wonderful and it amazes me that she is the complete opposite. Dr. Blackburn doesn't care about anyone that comes into her office. She barely ever lifts her head up from her computer to notice that you are there. Everytime I went in to see her, she would ask me "What do you need?", making me feel like I was a nuisance. After that I would have to walk her through what happened at all of the appointments before. Whenever I had questions, she wouldn't know the answer so she would have to look it up on the internet. I could do that myself! She would never remember who I was or my case. She would always act like she was in a hurry to get out of my room and that is the worst feeling when all you want is to be listened to and taken seriously. Her staff is just as bad! When I would get lab results, nobody would call me about them. I would have to call the office twice before anybody would call me back to tell me what my bloodwork says.… Then they would tell me that all of my bloodwork was fine when it clearly was not. If I didn't know what I was talking about, they would just let me off the phone and I would go without medicine or treatment I needed. It's not right for me to pay her and her staff for the work that I am doing for them. If I could find somewhere to turn her in, I would do it in a heartbeat!

This was my first visit with Dr. Blackburn. She was rushed and did not take the time to talk with me about all of my concerns. I initially went in for a sinus infection but also I wanted to talk with her about my feelings of depression. She would not talk to me about my depression at the visit. What doctor won't talk to a patient about feelings of depression??? I will never go back to this doctor.
