I wrote the previous review with 2 stars. I had a recent appointment and a much better experience. I’m not sure how to delete my previous review, so I’m writing this one to offset that one. I still haven’t actually had surgery yet, so I can’t comment on that part.

I had the last appointment of the day and it was extremely rushed. The front desk staff were the rudest people I’ve ever interacted with. One of them emailed me wrong information and I spent all day calling wrong numbers. It’s nearly impossible to connect to the office itself. When I finally did, the front desk staffer who answered the phone screamed at me and told me she didn’t care about scheduling my tests. Which was obvious. Giving 2 starts instead of 1 since I don’t know how Dr. Crisman actually is as a surgeon, but what I do know is that I’m not willing to find out.

Saw her after my mri showed lumbar stenosis and degenerative disc disease. Went over my MRI with me and showed me the problem areas. Explained things well. Listened to my concerns. She only does surgery and explained why we shouldn't go that route at this time which I appreciated as surgery is my last resort. Referred me for steroid injections to give time for my back to heal and we'll follow up. She's extremely knowledgeable and straightforward which I appreciate.

Father of four. I’ve suffered from chronic back pain over the last 12 years. This woman has the nerve to ask me if I’m “the one from the rehab”. FYI I made it a point to mention my sobriety, and enforce that I wanted to avoid pain meds. Had she bothered to look at the appointment paperwork she would’ve noticed my referral from an emergency room doctor. She ignored clear issues on my MRI, while pointing out other issues that she could have opted to treat; but declined for whatever reason. I don’t know what she was thinking. I will find a surgeon that believes my problem is worth their time. The worst part about this experience was the gutted feeling of “What do I do now?” I’ll continue to move forward until I get the treatment I need, but I would steer clear of this neurosurgeon. A little compassion goes a long way.
