Dr. Cemile Nurdan Ozturk, MD

I have coexisting conditions so my review is based on the fact that she SAID she knew how to handle this, but in practice she DID NOT. She is probably fine for an otherwise healthy breast cancer patient. But I am T1 Diabetic and she assured me this would not be a problem for doing a reconstruction. The day of my mastectomy, my blood sugar was very high. This is not a usual occurrence, but it was triggered by extreme stress. So that day they did the mastectomy only and she refused to start the reconstruction, saying we would wait and do it later. At my follow up appointment, she refused to schedule it! Now, if she thought this would have been a problem, she should have been upfront and said she did not want me as a patient. But instead, she reassured me that everything would be fine, I had my breasts removed, and then she told me she wouldn't treat me. My endourologist assured me that there was jo problem having the surgery, and I did have it with another doctor. It went well and turned… out great! (Actually glad I didn't have her do my surgery now!) But the point is, if you don't know what to do for a coexisting problem, then state that upfront. Don't remove someone's breasts and then say, sorry, can't help you!

Kind and Caring

She is a great doctor/surgeon with excellent caring bedside manner. She performed a long reconstruction surgery from my double mastectomy with a Diep Flap. I had a great outcome and I am very satisfied!!
