Dr. Cesar Gerez Martinez, MD

My pregnant wife went to Avery Ranch urgent care due to swelling in her feet. Instead of receiving compassionate care, she was treated very poorly by provider Cesar Gerez Martinez. He was condescending, dismissive, and rude—asking her about her first scan and last menstrual cycle in a way that implied she wasn’t really pregnant or didn’t know what she was talking about. When she answered to the best of her ability, he ignored her and responded rudely. The encounter was so upsetting that my wife left the clinic in tears without receiving the care she came for. To make matters worse, when we asked for his name, Mr. Martinez refused to give it, and we only learned it later from the front desk staff. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially toward a pregnant patient seeking help. Unless we receive assurance that Mr. Martinez will not continue practicing at this location, we will be looking elsewhere and warning others in our community. Patients deserve respect,… professionalism, and compassion—none of which were provided here tonight.

I felt that the doctor didn't care to bother with me. He could not give me a straight answer with questions and acted as if I was wasting his time. He also misread my mri and said I had osteoporosis and normal wear and tear on a disk in my back when even I could clearly see that my disk was ruptured. I will not be seeing him again. His staff was very friendly and helpful though. It's a shame they have such a lousy physician there though.

Left in the exam room for 45 minutes. Doctor kept yawning throughout the visit like I had interrupted a nap. His new patient physical amounted to him listening to my heart and breathing and shining a light in my eyes and mouth. Very cursory exam. Has very heavy latin accent making it hard to understand his questions. Seemed completely disinterested in me as a patient. Will never return.
