Dr. Chad Douglas Cole, MD

I had lumbar surgery in St George in 2015, L4,5 & S1. I was told before hand by one pain Dr that I didn't need the surgery (anti surgery). He then informed me afterwards he could feel the tops of the screws and that I did not have enough muscle to support a fusion. Another orthopedic surgeon looked back on my MRI's and said yes the discs were deteriorated. No one would comment on Dr Chad Cole, good or bad. I had hear rumors that he was suspended from IHC here in St George for doing too many fusions. What is one to hope for when we are in pain and have had multiple epidurals? Before Dr Cole's office closed up I had my last check-up and he sort of hid back in the corner and listened while his PA talked with me and then he was on the run to Reno.

PREVENTED MOM FROM HAVING LIFESAVING SURGERY

Dr Cole saved my life, I would recommend him with a 5 star rating. Not only is he hands on and very personable, but he is efficient at diagnosis and getting you into surgery as quickly as he can to get the procedure done. Dr Cole also has an excellent bedside manor, he is very concerned about his patients. I can not say enough. He is the best Dr. I have ever had.

Dr Cole left shortly after my c-5-t5 fusion Nov. 2017. Only saw him once post op Screws are visible through clothing. Severe pain when I was told this surgery will take away my pain. Worse now and looking at another surgery. I am left with massive muscle atrophy over upper back with only skin covering hardware and also vertebrae sticking up under skin. I can’t sit or lie on hard surface or look down or up causes muscle spasms. Effected my job and ability to do daily activities.

6 years ago I was diagnosed with severe stenosis in my lower back. My vertebrae was 3/4” out of position and closing off my spinal cord. I was scared beyond belief after speaking with 2 doctors. All seemed hopeless until I was referred to Dr. Chad Cole. He helped calm my fears and took his time to carefully discuss the details of the procedure. From beginning to end Dr. Cole made me and my family comfortable and at peace. Today I am eternally grateful for his excellent surgery technique and I am in excellent shape. DR. COLE IN OR DURING TRACH DAMAGE SEEN NOTHING DONE

Dr. Cole failed to correct my spinal deformity. He is 100% at fault, any surgeon would have done this and gotten it right. He neglected to fuse my spine in the correct position but instead fused me at an angle so my spine will never be straight and now needs to be completely redone. Dr. Cole should not be allowed to perform surgeries on people. The mistake he made on me was one that should not have been made. I worry how many lives he's destroyed other than mine and how many he's yet to destroy

Dr Cole gave me a 10 level Fusion however he did not straighten the last vertebrae only fused it in its curved position. This is caused me to stay hunched over even though the surgery was supposed to straighten my spine. Now I have extreme pain everyday and I'm fighting to find a surgeon who's willing to fix doctor Kohl's mistake. This doctor should not be allowed to practice do not use him as your surgeon

Doctor Cole practiced Neurosurgery in St. George Utah before he ran to Reno and now New York. His surgical privileges were withdrawn by the Dixie Regional in Mid 1986. He was only allowed to admit patients and could not perform any surgical procedures in the hospital. Many people may have benefited from his surgery but there are many to didn't and some who now suffer from the results the surgery he performed on them. I am one of those. To this day I suffer from what he did. He did not explain what he was going to do prior to the surgery and I know there are others. Is he a good Neurosurgeon? How does one define that, by results post surgically. To this day, I suffer from the back surgery he performed on me. He is a non communicator and absent after surgery, at least he was. I would only say that if you choose to have him perform surgery on you, make sure you consider all things before you have him perform a surgery on you.
