Dr. Chad Robert Edwards, PhD

I brought my father with memory problems for an assessment. Dr. Edwards was thorough and very kind. His recommendations and helpful handouts were awesome. My father did not get any of this information from our PCP. I wish that we saw Dr. Edwards sooner.

He was super professional and also really caring, making sure I always felt safe and not judged. I've grown a lot and feel much happier thanks to his help. I would tell anyone looking for help to go see Dr. Edwards. He was a huge help to me, and I'm really thankful for his advice.

It’s been about a year since my appointment with Dr. Edwards and now I feel even more so negative about my visit. My mother and I felt like we were being talked down to the whole time. He was giving my mom parenting advice and telling her most of my issues come from being on my phone too much. I had already been diagnosed with anxiety and depression at that point and was taking prescribed medication for it, yet he would only call it “sadness and a case of the worries” because he doesn’t like to use the terms. Condescending and insensitive. All of his suggestions to “help” felt irrelevant and based off of assumptions instead of what we were trying to convey. After talking to others about what happened to me, his reputation proceeds him and not in a good way.

I had my mind set on ADHD and really thought that a stimulant medication would be helpful. The doc helped me understand how certain problems and habits can make me feel like I have adhd. Although I was sort of upset that I didn't get a diagnosis of adhd at first, I can say that it was very helpful. After 2 months I followed the advice, took care of underlyign stuff, and I feel much better and avoided a stim. i recommend trusting him. Good experience.

While we had to wait a while for our actual appointment day, I was completely thrilled with with Dr. Edwards and his insight into our daughter. He took his time, asked us questions and listened to us and our concerns. He talked/ worked with our daughter and really gave us good advice and steps to follow to help her going forward. Honestly one of the first appointments I’ve left and felt relieved. I understand now why we had to wait for our appointment and it was worth it.

My teen was very complicated. I found the evaluation to be very helpful and accurate. Dr. Edwards identified things that his other doctors and providers have missed for years. I wish we came sooner. He also gave us great parenting advice. Thank you!

Took my teen to have a long-standing diagnosis updated for college board tests. In addition to dealing with his poorly run office, he intimidated my child, insulted me and my husband, and accused us of "diagnosis shopping." Further, he referred to himself as "the best educated psychologist in South Bend" and indicated that the nationally renown, experienced psychologist specializing in gifted kids with learning disabilities who made her original diagnosis was wrong. The "silver lining" is that the teen now wants to go into psychology and put Dr. Edwards out of business as his compassionate, and highly competent competitor. And they got into their first-choice college with test-optional admissions.

I came in with multitudes of symptoms I experience daily seeking an ADHD diagnosis by the reccomendation of my therapist. He didn't listen to a word I said, instead focusing on electronic usage causing all the symptoms for my problems. Extremely condescending and believes his view is the correct one no matter what. Please please, do not go here.

I have been seeking an autism diagnosis as an adult because I have long wondered, my mother told me she suspected from age 4 but never got me tested.. and I've had multiple therapists recommend I seek one. I was pretty hopeful, but I was ill equipped once it came to the interview and I felt like I was being talked over the majority of the time. Edwards seemed to think I didn't know what I was talking about and ended up settling on "I think you just have bad anxiety" and told me if I had sought diagnosis from him when I was younger he "probably wouldve given [me] you an asperger's diagnosis but [I've] seem to have grown out of it at this point". I didn't know that doctors still diagnosed asperger's instead of just calling it what it is- autism. and either way, you don't just grow out of it lmao... on top of that told me he doesn't think I have OCD (which I do and have had separately diagnosed) don't waste your money here. seriously, big price to pay for condescension.
