Dr. Chad Charles Zatezalo, MD

Although I had previously consulted with Dr. Z. for ptosis and hereditary “saddlebags” under my eyes, it was not until an accident resulted in severe functional and cosmetic damage to one eye that I proceeded with surgery – and I’m so glad I did! Dr. Z is as terrific as I had heard from two leading ophthalmologists in the DC area and I’m delighted with the results. In addition to his technical expertise and excellent aesthetic judgement, Dr. Z has an exceptional bedside manner. He’s warm and engaging and both he and Megan, his wonderful “Girl Friday,” always made it seem like I made their day just by showing up! I particularly appreciated their flexibility in scheduling around rush-hour traffic and winter road conditions. I also appreciated the fact that I had cell-phone access to both Megan and Dr. Z during my recovery, although I didn’t need it or use it. I should note that, of the many ophthalmologists I saw after my accident, Dr. Z was literally the only one to suggest… consulting an ocularist to improve the appearance of my damaged eye: I had never heard of such professionals, so yet another reason to be grateful to Dr. Z! Finally, in addition to attending conferences and lectures to keep his skills up-to-the-minute, Dr. Z. also provides teaching and consultation to other ophthalmologists – a sure sign of a top-notch expert in his field.

Dr. Z reconstructed my lower eye lid after a basil cell was removed. I am very pleased with the results. He is very compassionate , puts you at ease and explains everything in detail. He and Megan run a very efficient and friendly office. I highly recommend The Zatezalo Group.

II had six lower eyelid surgeries by different doctors who left my lids in a horrible condition. They were hanging, protruding and each looked different from the other. In trying to find the right doctor to fix them, I had consultations with three well know plastic surgeons who wouldn't touch my eyelids because of the prior damage, yet they all recommended (unknown to the other) the same surgeon, Dr. Chad Zatezalo. They said he was my best option in the DC/MD/VA area to fix it. Scared and not knowing what to do, I made an appointment with Dr ¸Zatezalo. He was very compassionate, caring and extremely knowledgeable about what happened to my lids and what he could do to fix them. Today, my eyes look marvelous. It is truly unbelievable what he did. I look like myself again. He did an excellent job and I could never thank him enough. I am so happy I found Dr Zatezalo.. He is truly the best. If you want perfection, Dr Z he is the one to see.

I saw several doctors to get opinions before I saw Dr. Zatezalo. Right away, I knew I had finally found the right doctor. He knew immediately what I needed to have done, he explained everything carefully and answered all my questions, and then when he did my surgery, he was careful, gentle and capable -- he did a beautiful job! Removed eye plug which had been irritaing my eye for months. Two other doctors I had been to ignored my request to remove this silicon eye plug. Dr. Zatezalo removed it without any fuss.
