Dr. Chandler Long, MD

Dr. Long is very patient and gives a thorough examination. He is knowledgeable - an expert in his field!

After having stents placed in my leg, twice in two years from PAD, I needed a vascular surgeon, preferably at Duke. One that's trustworthy and willing to give relevant information about my conditions without me needing to ask, or if I do ask, answer to the best of his/her knowledge. Since my transplant doctors and cardiologists were at Duke, I assumed it would be easier communication for all three to be at Duke. After researching and coming across Dr. Chandler Long's profile, I was confident that I found the right Vascular Surgeon. Dr. Long appeared very professional and ethical, after hearing his profile statements like, don't be afraid to ask him questions, he enjoys getting to know his patients and their families. It didn't take long for me to find out that his profile was very misleading and deceiving, and as a matter of fact, he's opposed to his own profile statements. I met Dr. Long once, in his office, and he made a great impression on me… until I needed his help or advice. I've messaged him four times since then, through DukeMyChart, and all four times he's never messaged me back. Twice, for a refill, I was almost out of and once was a question about leech therapy, for possibly a better circulation. My fourth and last message was asking him why he hasn't returned any of my previous messages. He left me no doubt that he's definitely unprofessional, unethical, uncompassionate, and unreliable. This is the basis of what all patients should always rely on from their doctors. In Duke's "Patients Bill Of Rights, it states that patients should be respected with dignity, regardless of their, gender, race, age, sexuality, etc.. Is it's possible that he forgot, four times consecutively? My perception tells me, it's more probable he knew exactly what he was doing, or not doing in my case. I'll call Patient's Relations in order to find out what's really going on with Dr. Chandler Long, but I'm looking for what Dr. Long is definitely missing PROFESSIONAL DECENCY.

I cannot say enough about Dr Long and his team working with my wife due to a emergency surgery that came about due to blood clots that formed in her arm after a prior Brain Tumor Removal. Some of the selections below I cannot really give an accurate rating but if I ever need vascular surgery Dr. Long will be my First Choice
