Dr. Patel recently repaired my abdominal aortic aneurysm. He is smart, experienced and a very talented surgeon. Highly recommend.

I honestly have never responded to such reviews but in this case it is hard for me to let this go. In no way shape or form, I ignored any of those patients’ issues. I always answer their questions to the best of my ability and guide them to what is the best for their clinical problems as long as it takes. The ultrasound results for one of the patients was in preparation for surgery to see if there is a substitute vein for a suitable bypass in the leg instead of cadaver or artificial graft. This does not delay the timing of Surgery but necessary prior to surgery. The patient has a chronic problem that needs to be addressed asap but it has to be preauthorized as per routine based on patient’s current insurance plan. She chose not to wait and that is her acceptable decision and I am all in support of it. The other patient believes that I “rudely” treated them which I do not at all practice medicine in such a way. I understand that every patient has their own opinion and I accept them but… these 2 reviews for certain do not reflect on how I practice medicine. I’m a board certified surgeon, who deeply respect and treat my patients with the utmost care! If that weren’t true, than wouldn’t you think their primary care physician could have sent them elsewhere in the first place! Dr. Patel

After seeing Dr. Patel for the first time, I conveyed to friends and family that he seemed to have little interest or concern about my condition. He discussed the necessity of me having a bypass, and then referred me to Simon Med for an ultra sound. My arteries in both legs are blocked 85-100%, causing both feet to become terribly red and in extreme pain from lack of oxygen. I was anxious to hear the results of the test and get the surgery scheduled asap, but he (his office) did not bother to call me. When I called him, I was told that the soonest I could have the procedure would be in two weeks! I waited another three days to call for an exact date of the procedure and was told it would now be three weeks out! In the meantime my condition worsens everyday and the fear of loosing a limb weighs heavily on me and my family. I am diabetic and have had a total of four angioplasties (2 in ea leg) between nov17-apr18, all of which failed. My situation is now urgent and I am seeking… alternative action. I sincerely recommend doing your research and steering clear of this doctor.

The bedside manner was a disgrace. Made us feel like we were wasting his time. I asked a question or made a statement and rudely he replied. Will never take my mother in law back there again ever!

I had to have a thoracotomy on a short notice basis. Dr. Patel came in on Memorial Day this year to do the surgery, which ended up taking twice as long due to unforeseen circumstances (with my lung). He is very nice, friendly, communicative, helpful and reassuring. I would recommend him and his office to anyone in need of cardio or thoracic surgery. Very pleased.
