I definitely would not recommend her, she didn't fix my issues, she didn't want to do the surgery needed to fix my issues, brushed me off for a year ignoring the multiple e.r visits that recommended she did surgery. Finally changed ob & he scheduled my surgery during the 1st visit & gave me meds to stop bleeding instead of the multivitamin I was told to take while I continued bleeding with fatigue & pain smh

She’s been my doctor for almost 25 years. Dr Spurdon delivered my second child 24 years ago. I see her every year for my well woman and she’s always been pleasant and truly cares about my overall health. When she has run late with other patients she’s apologetic.

Would give 0 stars if I could. She’s so rude and has no interest in listening to patient concerns. I left the office in tears and she couldn’t care less.

Had to see her due to my doctor being out and she was on call. She down talked the information the ER doctor provided and tried to pass me back to primary care when primary care referred my to see a gynecologist for PELVIC PAIN. No pain anywhere else. So why wouldn’t this be something handled in her field. Terrible terrible service

i have been going to her for 27 years. she really cares about your overall health and not just your feminine health. I have recommended her to my friends and my mother-in-law

I’ve gone to Dr Spurdon for 20 years and would never want to go to anyone else. She saved mine and my daughters life when I was pregnant in 2014. She wants the best for every patient and is always kind and caring.

This is a doctor who listens to you. You're not just a number to get in and out. Refreshing and appreciated in this day and age.

I do not recommend Dr. Spurdon, largely due to her office and their billing practices. Took me multiple calls and conversations with office manager, Amanda, to get labs billed correctly from my Well Woman visit (charged to my insurance / covered 100% under well woman vs. charging me for 100% of the labs cost). I went to Dr. Spurdon as a teenager, moved back to the area and started going to her again. During my first visit she recommended I get an endometrial ablation. The office did a pre-certification with BCBS and told me the costs for the pre-work (biopsy, ultrasound, and procedure). Then as bills for prework started to come in, they were 4x+ what they had quoted! Fortunately, I got things in writing and had dates listed of when I spoke to billing / pre-cert so they ultimately honored the original quote. Then prior to having my ablation, I was quoted $25 out of pocket co-pay. Based on my experience of the office quoting one amount and billing a much larger amount, I asked… multiple times (of billing and office manager) of any additional costs that may be incurred. I was initially told "$25 copay - that's all." Only when I asked about anesthesiology did I get "Oh, yeah, they will bill too and likely only $25." I asked for a contact in anesthesiology and BIG Surprise....the anesthesiology group they use only accept a finite number of plans and BCBS is not one of them?!?! It's out of network and my out of pocket would be $500+! I emailed the office to find out if they use any anesthesiology groups that accept BCBS and they said this was the only group they use. Then I get a letter 3 weeks later from Dr. Spurdon stating they will no longer be treating me as a patient (no reason). Weird?! Asked too many questions? Perhaps. But I already have another OB/GYN that I have been referred to by multiple friends. Just a warning to future patients to be careful of the billing practices of this office. I spoke to a friend that is/was a patient of Spurdon (she's transferring out after my treatment by this office) and she too was billed the full amount for her Well Woman labs (which she thought was odd and supposed to be covered 100%). Well woman labs are covered at 100%...do not let an office tell you otherwise.

Dr. Spurdon has been my doctor for 20 years. I trust her implicitly. She's so thorough and really cares.

May appointment was at 8:00 a.m. @ 8:54 a.m. I am sitting in a room and still no doctor. I spent 26 minutes in the waiting room and now 20 minutes sitting in a empty room when I am missing $20+ a hour that I could have used for a box of diapers. I am just sick of my time not being as important as the doctors. My thing is don't schedule appointments 15 minutes apart if you can't make each appointment on time stop making it about the dollar instead of the patient.
