Dr. Charbel Awad

Dr. Charbel Awad, MD was the lead doctor on my surgery and this surgery has changed my life for the worse. There were 3 incision sites; 1 was stitched improperly and later formed into a keloid. 2 of the incision sites became infected. During my 2 week Post Op with Dr. Awad, I expressed concerns about the incisions appearing to be infected and he insisted that they were not. When I asked who stitched the site that was improperly stitched, he said he did and tried to change the subject. However, I circled back to the same question in our conversation and he then said that someone else did because he does not stitch well. During that time, he was taking a closer look at that specific site and actually ripped the scab off and it began bleeding. He chuckled and said, look what you made me do, (not joking, a very true story.) Needless to say, I got a 2nd opinion and found that 2 of the sites were indeed infected, which included the site that was improperly stitched. Since the surgery, I… have been experiencing nerve damage where I feel constant numbness with the pain of burning and tingling sensations on a daily basis. I now take medicine everyday for the pain so that I could resume a somewhat "normal life". Everything Dr. Awad does is fast; he talks fast; he will began answering your question before fully hearing it. He gets confused on what he has told you before...saying one thing and when asked the same question - saying something completely different. It is all very confusing and disheartening for a patient to hear their doctor's answer to their concerns constantly changing. Your visits with Dr. Awad will be fast as well, as it seems the Annandale Ob-Gyn practice believes in quantity, over quality with some patients, including their surgeries. This surgery has changed my life - getting rid of 1 health problem and bringing on entirely new health problems in its course. Dr. Charbel Awad, MD is untruthful, untrustworthy and in my opinion, unethical. Simply put, with my experience - Dr. Charbel Awad is not a doctor you'd want caring for you. Please do your research and find a doctor who values you as a patient; taking the time to fully listen, addressing your concerns and truly believing that Your Health Matters.
