Dr. Charisse Nicole Stovall, MD

Dr. Samuel Johnston joined Cascade Heart in October 2010. He received his medical degree in 2002 from the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago IL, where he subsequently completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowships in general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Johnston has also trained at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda MD. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology and board eligible in electrophysiology.
Dr. Johnston is a specialist in heart rhythm abnormalities. He is experienced in performing complex ablations, such as the ablation of atrial fibrillation and the ablation of ventricular tachycardia. He is also an experienced implanter of pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators, and biventricular pacemakers (cardiac resynchronization therapy).
Born and raised in Iowa, Dr. Johnston enjoys listening to jazz; playing tennis and racquetball; and reading about history, politics, economics, and …literature. He lives in Portland with his wife and two children.
