Dr. Charlene Johnson, MD

Dr Johnson's wait time is insane. If you have a scheduled appointment you should plan to spend at least 2- 3 hours waiting for her to spend 5 minutes with you.

Dr Johnson is FANTASTIC she cares about the patients and the family as a whole. I love the attending nurse and assistant. The customer service over the phone and administrative department seem over whelmed. Dr. Johnson makes it worth the wait. I must say that the front staff tries and will work with you if you have patience. I have been to 3 different Peds in Atlanta and over all this is the best yet.

I have had it with this doctor and her staff. For almost a year I've been with this doctor and displeased from the beginning. The average wait time is always around an hour. When I ask her questions about my child's heath, as any concerned and loving parent should do, she often detours me, seemingly because she doesn't know the answer or because she pridefully insists that I fully accepts whatever she tells me. She is often too ready to prescribe something for my 10 month old son. If I ask "what are these bumps that keep recurring on his eyes?" She always says "let me give him an antibiotic for that" and has NO sort of explanation. Nearly half of her staff seems to be lazy. One particular guy is just flat out rude. I have been called at home by staff to reschedule so that the staff could all have the rest of the day off if I came in earlier. I was in disbelief that this was actually admitted to me! If not for the female receptionist that is just so friendly and in love with my son, I… would not have held on to this doctor for so long. But now, after being denied to bring in my son just 15 minutes after 11am because the office closes at one, i have finally decided to switch doctors. My son possibly had an ear infection and mucus in his chest and they refused to let me bring my baby. How dare they?? I was told to take him to the hospital instead.If you want a doctor whom you feel secure with this is NOT the one. If you want a doctor who values what YOU have to say about your child's condition when YOU are the one who lives with him/her, then this certainly isn't the one. If you want someone who's easy to access then again, Dr. Charlene Johnson is not the one. Her office and lunch hours are really sporadic as well as the leisure to leave work early. I've experienced this time and time again. Please listen to my advice and don't take your child here. If you love your child, then get them a doctor who perhaps went to Emory medical school or another one of the top medical schools in the country. Morhouse is nice but it's ranked like 57th and I have seem this lady time and time again unequipped intellectually and personally to make scientifically wise and caring decisions. Dr. Charlene Johnson has some horrendous rash all over her hands, and I would not have had a problem, if she had used gloves when examining my son's private area. I think this was a poor choice, also I asked several questions that did not get answered during the visit. I will not return.
