Dr. Charles Blake Avera, MD

Unfortunately, when rating a Dr., you must consider the office staff. The front desk staff is rude. Not once, but every time. The waiting room is generally packed with zero sitting room, and the last time we checked in they didn’t even bother to inform us Dr. Avera was running almost an hour behind schedule. When people started asking questions the receptionist was very rude to every single person, with little to no consideration that not everyone in the room had time to just sit and disregard a schedule. One man actually fell asleep waiting and missed being called. The nurses are actually the best part as they’re generally friendly and helpful. Dr. Avera is very good at what he does and we always leave feeling good with whatever he’s diagnosed. Sadly, the disrespect shown by the front desk overshadows the rest of the office visit. We will most likely go someplace else in the future.

Took his time and explained everything clearly to me. He was caring and compassionate with my mother. I would highly recommend him to all my friends and family.

Rude.

I felt like a number, not a patient. Dr. Avera hardly looked at me. His assistant sat in a chair throughout the entire visit with her eyes closed. He prescribed a regimen of eye drops every two hours indefinitely. Who could actually do that? I will NEVER go back. I'd rather drive to Dallas to see an opthamologist.

I had a great visit. Staff was very efficient. Dr. Avera explained everything to me so I could understand. Would recommend Dr. Avera to all my friends and family.

My overall experience was great! I was a little scared, but the doctor made me feel very comfortable and the staff and doctor were very professional. I didn't feel like the doctor rushed and he explained everything very clearly. I would highly recommend Dr.Avera.
