Dr. Charles Joseph Bock JR., MD

Dr. Charles Bock changed my life. It is not an overstatement. I am a 54-year-old man with a congenital intracranial lipoma that in my case, affects the Trochlear nerve causing a nerve palsy and atrophied superior oblique muscle. I have had double vision because of this and a head tilt. Because of his amazing diagnostic ability and surgical skill I am almost completely binocular vision now. Simply looking around is refreshing now. Previously, downward gaze problems had caused several falls and accidents. I was hoping to even be 50% better but the results were much better than expected. I am so grateful to him. Surgery was fantastic. Follow up at the Oregon City NW Eye clinic was easy and professional. His team of eye care specialists and assistants all were top notch. His nonchalant humble demeanor betrays a skill set many Doctors would let go to their head. Thanks Dr. Bock! Also thank you Dr. Flannery for referring me to Dr. Bock.

I took my son to this eye place. He is 3 yrs old and I would advise anyone with children to never go here. I was so shooken up when I left here. My son came here twice and the second time we went, doctor Charles bock snapped at my 3 yr old when he wouldn't look at him. He asked him once to look up at him after putting on his new glasses, then the second time he word for word yelled "dude look at me" to my son. It was very inappropriate to do to a child. Im really upset he was not nice with my son. He was not patient and he is a doctor specifically for kids. He also used very aggressive eye drops on his eyes which makes children have blurry vision for a week and causes double vision. The drops made one kid who was there at the same time throw up. My sons new doctor has said those eyes drops are not good to use on kids. Charles bock's assistants were the same way; not patient at all with my boy. When they put drops in his first eye, my boy was crying because they burned. Naturally, I… wanted to comfort him because he was in pain. As they were about to do the second eye he was freaking out. I tried to console him, but they wouldnt let me because they were in to big of a hurry to leave for the day. Anyways, I found another office and they are amazing. They use exercise to strengthen my sons eyes to help him. They take time with him and really care. Please take this in consideration and go some where that is worth your money and your childs health. This place is not worth it and Charles bock is not a good eye doctor for children.

Dr. Bock is terrific. He is kind, and has a wonderful chair-side manner. He has helped two people in my family.

We brought our daughter to Dr. Bock after trying another pediatric eye doctor. He was amazing with my daughter and his bedside manner was perfect for me and her. He is gentle, kind and fun for kids. For parents he takes the time to discuss the issues at hand and will spend extra time determining a strategy for me, my daughter and her future needs. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a pediatric physician.
