Dr. Charles W. Obasiolu, MD

Had an absolutely horrible experience with this doctor. Spoke to a manager and they apologized profusely and rescheduled me with another provider in the practice. The experience with the new doctor has been 1000% better. This man has zero compassion or understanding - run run run !!

Dr Obasiolu was the second fertility doctor I have gone to. The other dr wasted so much time with all the other treatments. When Dr O reviewed my records he saw that the other Dr was basically wasting my time. Dr O had me approved for IVF so quickly. We were pregnant on the first round. Unfortunately, after 29 weeks we lost our beautiful little girl. After I left the hospital, I knew I needed to try again, when I contacted his office they told me it would be a few months before Dr. O could see me. I emailed him and he had a nurse schedule me an appointment right away. When I came to see him he was compassionate and very thorough. My favorite thing about him is that he does not sugar coat anything. He tells you how it is, very upfront. During these situations, I need him to tell me to calm down. When I leave a message for him, he always calls me back personally. I am currently on my second round of IVF and I am fully confident with my decision to go back to Dr Obasiolu. … I trust him fully and know he has my health in his best interest.

I was a patient of Dr.O from 2012 to 2015, I went through two surgeries and as many IUI's as my insurance would cover (5 rounds) and then through 2 rounds of IVF, both of which failed. At the end when he insisted on another IVF and I refused, he stated that I am simply too old to conceive and that was that. I was 39. Now I'm a mom of a beautiful and healthy baby boy and I wish I listened to my gut and didn't waste all that time and money on that joke of a doctor. He's monetizing on his patients misery and then blames all failures on them. A monster.

Dr. O is all about doing volume. There is no individual care. It’s like saying one shoe fits all. I was over prescribed medicine and once I questioned it they lowered the dose. I’ve had instances when the nurse forgot to call me back. There were 2 nurses. A wonderful nurse who recently left and went to Boston IVF and another lazy one who would say she’d return your call and the never would. After multiple failed IVF attempts I was sure I had another issue going on but Dr. O assured me that that was not the case and I should start another round of IVF. I got a 2nd option from another Dr. and my concerns were real. I had another issue that was resolvable with medication. I would suggest working directly with Boston IVF. They have great doctors that dig into the issues and one size does not fit all.

Nurses Treats you as a number and not a human being and sends confusing information. Not accommodating or compassionate at all. One or two are good. Do your research and go to a better practice.

My husband and I went for our first fertility consult. We walked into Dr. Obasiolu's office and the first thing he did was shake my husband's hand, but declined to shake mine. I'm not sure how you can expect me to trust a doctor to put his hands in my vagina when he won't even shake my hand and acknowledge me as an equal. Then he went through our consult as if we were buying a car - all business - and we were out the door in 10 minutes. We will not be returning.

I was very nervous about this whole process and Dr. Obasiolu and his wonderful team of staff made this a very comfortable, memorable experience. When I would go for treatment I felt that everyone genuine cared about how I was progressing.

Dr. Obasiolu truly cares and wants you to be successful. When our first cycle failed he personally called me to see how I felt and explained to keep our head up and never give up. He changed protocol and we are now in our 2ww in the second cycle. His staff is amazing and I feel he truly cares, everyone needs to understand this is an extremely busy man with lots of patients and he still had time to call me in my worst moment. Excellent doctor.

A Quote from Dr. O "I don't care about stress. All I care about is the sperm, the egg and the uterus." That was stated after I talked to him because of the incorrect info provided by his nursing staff (4 Times we received incorrect errors or meds were not ordered for us). He has no care for his patients. We spent a total of 40 MINUTES with him during our IVF cycle. We were called by a nurse to tell us the cycle was cancelled. The doctor we went to after Dr. O said 'huh' after reviewing the data from the cycle. We are not sure what the new doc saw but it is a pretty interesting statement from the new doc. I wanted to complain to his boss but Dr. O stated "I am the chief. I don't have a boss." I finally got connected to the patient resources people and talked to his boss. I am still waiting on a letter from Dr. O regarding the whole situation.

First of all, Dr. Obasiolu never did a phsyical exam of me. He listened to my problems and was quick to prescribe clomid w/o even considering my husband's factors. After 2 rounds of clomid, they finally had my husband tested. Dr. O made us both very uneasy, he didnt' explain things well (when we were nervous abou going to down the fertility path in the first place), and was extremely dismissive with any of my questions or concerns. It felt like he wanted me out of his office the second i stepped in. After 4 rounds of clomid, i decided to switch to the MGH fertility center - WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE... it was a completely different experinece, much better service and much better results! They were so much more understanding and patient and i enjoyed everyone in the practice throughout my experience there. I would NOT recommend Dr. O for ANYONE. Find another doctor.
