Dr. Cook has done a wonderful job on my ankle. I had an ankle replacement in September and it is already feeling much better than before surgery. He takes time to answer any and all questions. His staff is friendly and the wait time is not very long in his office

I had a horrible experience with Dr Cook. His office told me that Orthotics would be covered 100 percent by insurance. Then they called me and said I owed them $800. They admitted it was their mistake but insisted I still owed them the money. There are many great podiatrists in Dallas. Go to them instead of Center For Foot And Ankle Restoration. Don't fall for a bait and switch experience like I did. I even tried to contact Dr. Cook via phone and email. He simply refused to call me back likely meaning he just does not care. There is a reasons everyone rates him so low online. He should not be practicing in the state of Texas in my opinion. Apart from all this, both times I have seen him I've had to wait more than 45 minutes in his waiting room after showing up on time.

Dr. Cook worked on my broken ankle, and a year after, it is worse that it was before. Did all the therapy, worked hard to rehab, and I am worse off than before. I can barely walk now. Stay away from this guy.

Dr. Cook has gone out of his way to repair the damage done by a podiatrist. Could not be happier with him or with his staff. On time, never a long wait, excellent care from him and his staff. He has worked tirelessly to try to repair my foot and has done everything that great doctor could possibly do. I wouldn’t hesitate to take any family member I refer any friend to him. I went in to have a broken ankle/torn tendon repaired. I now have more pain than I had prior to my surgery. My ankle swells on a daily basis and the pain is so bad I can barely walk. I now have to wear a brace just to get thru my daily life. All Dr. Cook wants to do about it is go back in for more surgery. He should have fixed it right the first time. Won't let him touch me again.

Per my neurologist, Dr Norma Melamed, this Doctor caused permanent nerve pain. His actions have caused me to have life long pain. Whatever you do don't go to this doctor

This Doctor has injured people with his inability to care for his patients. Even his fellow doctors have testified in court that he permanently damaged patients. In addition he send you to/or is associated with unethical doctors. He doesn't care about his patients when a patient gets injured by his care he sends you to fellow doctors that he knows will damage you further. Don't go to him unless you want nerve damage.

He had to fix what a MVA damaged a crushing accident but also a podiatrist had completely screwed up my ankle by using the scope surgery to remove what was supposed to be only the built up arthritis from trauma I was only 22 at the time of the accident and only 35 at the 34 at the time of this scope surgery. He actually ended up removing everything in the ankle joint, all of the arthritis and all of the healthy cartilage as well!!! As a result I ended up with a bone on bone condition causing even more pain and for the first time in my life even after the accident and reconstructive surgery I was required to use high strength pain medications percocet and dilaudid just to deal with the pain. After seeing 6 different podiatrists I found out unfortunately too late that they are not MD's this infuriated me that I allowed myself to be so ignorant and to be victimized without doing more investigative work. I was recommended to Dr. Charles Cook and told he was the #2 Dr. in the… nation for this type of issue. I had seen another Dr. in Hurst who was going to do a TAR which is a total ankle replacement which is a joint replacement but found out he had never performed the surgery on a live human only on 5 cadavers. Needless to say I at a young age which this surgery is normally performed on much older patients in or around the age of 60 I was not interested in being the first live human guinea pig for this Dr. so as a result when I was told of Dr. Cook I immediately made an appointment and found out that he was quite experienced with this type of surgery and that he had performed it many many times and was able to do it with no problems whatsoever. Dr. Cook saw me examined me and told me the very frank truth that it would require a total ankle replacement or a Fusion which is a complete fixation of the joint a procedure causing my ankle to be completely immobilized with the exception for very limited side to side movement. I have always been a dancer and my accident did practically end my career and caused me to not be able to do it professionally ever again. I was a ballerina and a jazz dancer a love I still miss to this day. But God had other plans for me and thankfully they included Dr. Cook being my surgeon and allowing me to have an ankle that still moves although I had some other problems including a tibial fracture due to a fall off of my mobilizing device a rolling scooter, in my 16th week of healing after my surgery which did end up causing the Dr. to require me to have a plaster cast instead of the boot that allowed for opening and exposure of the ankle, for an additional 6 weeks and made my range of motion even more limited due to a hardening of the ligaments and tendons surrounding the ankle at the surgical site. This obviously is not a typical result and was strictly an accident due to me being up on my push scooter to take care of my two very young small children at the time. There is no other Dr. or surgeon I would ever trust to operate on me EVER, he has since had to perform a second surgery which was a revision of the 1st but was 5.5 yrs after that first replacement of the ankle joint and a stretching of the Achilles due to complications in the joint causing a great deal of pain all of which were probably due to the fall and original tibial fracture 16 weeks into my healing after the first surgery which should not have happened in the first place and had nothing to do with his abilities or the surgery itself at all!! if you are needing any type of foot or ankle care or surgery or therapy I would only recommend Dr. Charles Cook. He has a Dallas office but also has limited hours at his FW office also on one or two days a week. But no matter where you are it is worth the drive to see him. I have seen patients drive from all over the state to come to see him because of his abilities as a surgeon, a healer, and a person. There is no one like him!
