Dr. Charles Franklin Dryden, MD

I would give 0 stars if I could. I went to Centennial ER after experiencing Covid/flu-like symptoms for 4 days. I have a history of asthma and was having a terrible time with wheezing/coughing and shortness of breath. At night time I was even experiencing apnea, and I live alone. After sharing a video of my breath sounds to several of my prior nurse-coworkers, they advised me to go to an ER. When Dr. Dryden (barely) entered my room, he stayed in the doorway, asked what symptoms I had and immediately says "You probably have it". To which I respond "Oh...really?" and he said "Yep. I mean, everyone does. We'll run a covid/flu test". He leaves abruptly, never to be seen again until 2 hours later. The nursing staff never checked on me for those 2 hours either - no updates, no blanket or offer for any kind of comfort. Being an asthmatic patient, probably my biggest complaint is that he did NOT check my breathing with a stethoscope. No one did. He never even came near me, let alone checked… anything physically on me. After 2 hours, he returned (still standing in the doorway) and tells me my test is negative, but they are just going to "call me infected" and to go get rest/fluids. I asked if I would be getting any cough medicine and he shook his head and responded "nope. Take Robitussin" and I asked if I could get Prednisone to reduce the inflammation in my lungs (again, I am ASTHMATIC), to which he again shakes his head, says nope, and then leaves. They never ran blood work, no urinalysis, no EKG, just covid/flu and sent me on my way with absolutely nothing. Fast forward 4 days, I am now fevered, drenched in sweat, and shaking uncontrollably with chills, tachycardic and hypertensive. I go to Medical City Mckinney and I am diaphoretic, HR in the 150's, BP 164/113 (and I am 26 years old and healthy, normally 114/74 BP) so they immediately get me on IV fluids, magnesium, Rocephin, Azythromiacin, PO Motrin and Zofran. The staff there was baffled by the negligence of Dr. Dryden to not even check my breathing when I am a respiratory case with hx of asthma and did nothing at all to help me. I realize most Covid patients are not given Predisone/antibiotics right off the bat due to it potentially worsening their condition, however I was not a confirmed case and I have asthma. The level of care provided by Dryden was pathetic, his attitude was careless and pompous and he made me feel like an idiot for even going to the ER that day. Medical Center of Mckinney staff took amazing care of me and did everything necessary to get me stabile and feeling better. I wound up with worsening infection in my lungs and a severe kidney infection. But Dryden never would have known this given that he did not order a urinalysis on me or listen to my lungs. If you made it all the way through reading this novel of a review, I think it's safe to say, turn and run the other way and don't waste your time or risk your health declining with this negligent, ill-mannered "doctor".

If I could give ZERO or negative stars for Dr. Dryden, I would do so. Visited Baylor ER earlier this morning and without even examining, he came to a conclusion that my neck/shoulder pain is related to muscle. He wanted me out of there as quickly as possible without doing anything for my unbearable pain. He should be ashamed to call himself a Doctor as he has no people skills or a Doctor's ear to listed to the patient and even make an effort to understand a patient's concern. Would highly advise to stay away for such Doctors who are just in their profession to mint money. Shame on you Dr Dryden!

Very responsive & provided a lot of good info

Dr. Dryden is an incredible doctor. He helped me understand the purpose of the E.R. which has greatly helped me make more informed medical decisions. I would recommend him and the Baylor Frisco location for Emergent needs.

The experience with this doctor was horrifying. He was rude, insensitive, uncaring, demeaning and made you feel like you were wasting his time.
